dove 0 #1 March 29, 2002 To anyone who's ever sent me a PM and wondered how I could be so RUDE to not respond... I just figured those darn things out now! And now I have a little letter flashing on my screen - but I've NEVER seen that before. I guess I had to go in there to activate it... but that doesn't seem right. Anyhow, if you PMd me I apologize for not answering you. apologetic dove

dove 0 #4 March 29, 2002 That icon has never shown on my screen until now. Weird. That's why I was thinking maybe you have to go into the PM screen to activate, but that makes no sense either. Despite that, though... yes, I do feel stupid. And I thought you all hated me!

dove 0 #10 March 29, 2002 Hey ltdiver! I sent you a PM - like 3 times and kept getting an error message so I don't know if you got it or not.PT is great! Well - I mean it ain't the funnest thing in the world, but it is SO awesome to watch my progress. I have been on my own since the one physical therapist visited me in the hospital. He came in with a speech about how important it was to really be vigilant with your PT and not to be lazy. He left saying "Please don't overdo it!" And everytime I go to the doctor they are ASTOUNDED by how much strength, mobility and flexibility I have regained. This week I added a bunch of new exercises since I will start walking in 4 weeks now. I want my leg to be strong before I put weight on it! Of course, there is only so much I can do to build up the muscle without doing weight-bearing, but I have to admit I am kicking butt and taking names! Even since I added the new exercises after seeing the doc on Tuesday I can see progress. And oddly enough I think all the new exercises are actually making that last bit of swelling finally go down some more - either that or it's just coincidence. Anyhow, you PT guys rock! Thank you from the top of my tibia!dove

dove 0 #12 March 29, 2002 Lori,I know you come here to chill and socialize, not to work... but I have a work question for you. As long as I do NO weight bearing, is there any possibility of overdoing it? Of hurting myself more? I have been doing tons more exercises to strengthen my muscles, but my knee aches a bit from it all. A little more than it has been. Not awful, but I don't want to slow my recovery. I also know that PT is supposed to hurt. Anything I should avoid? Will I know if I've done something to hurt my knee? Thanks for your help!!dove
