my optical mouse must suck b/c if i try to move it to fast it just jumps around. this also makes it very hard to play my first person shooters b/c if i try to turn around to quick it just jurks back and forth. Anyone else got this problem.

Yeah, I do too. I've tried just about everything I can think of to get around it (new drivers, updates, etc), but I think it is the first generation MS-opticals that are effected...[sad]

well i geuss a new mouse is in order. This is straight up anoying! I have the Explorer, which do you have?

Same thing, a Megro-soft Intellamouse Explorer Optical...nice mouse, got it when the first came out, just annoying when it messes up...

I had an early Explorer. It worked great for almost a year, then it would just go crazy every once in a while. The cursor would jump all over the screen and click on everything. When I took the PS/2 adapter off and plugged it into a USB port, it would just freeze for a few seconds instead of going nuts. Now I have an optical Logitech Wheel Mouse. It is much smaller than the Explorer and only has two buttons and the wheel, but it costs half as much and works great.

I'm sort of spoiled by the twin buttons on the left side, though. Since I tend to be lazy, it keeps me from having to drag my mouse *alllll* the way up to the back and forward buttons and I don't have to lift a hand to the keyboard to hit the hot keys...

yep thats what i LOVE about it!! i can't stand using other peoples computers b/c i keep going for the thumb button!
