Oh man, that's the truth. I did the majority of growing up in Missouri and they are horrible drivers. They are followed VERY closely in horrible driving by Indiana. Don't know this for a fact, but it makes sense that since Illinois is sandwiched in between the two, the drivers there probably aren't much better.
