Emmie 0 #1 April 11, 2002 This had to have been the best day of my life! I got to the dropzone expecting a hurricane, but there was no wind. So I was finally going to make a jump after wating for 5 months! I got the best instructor. He's the nicest sweetest guy that you can ever meet, and he requested to stay with me untill I finish AFF, which was pretty brave of him. So we go up, and I am totaly psyched, but the second I left the plane, it was awesome, I had total control of my body, did everything right, and had a fairly descent landing, which was great since it was my first time jumping my own rig.Level 6 was awesone, I don't think that the backloop was the greatest, but I passed, and ended up landing into a mud puddle abbout half a foot deep. Went up for level 7, did 2 backloops, barrel roll and tracked untill pulltime. Landed in the same mud puddle, so the rig isn't as pretty to look at as before, but who cares. I finally passed! My jm put me on "probation" where I'm only allowed to jump with him untill he signs me off, which is awesome, because I'll be doing coach jumps for a price of two slots. I am so happy, the adrenaline is still pumping, so forgive my raving. Emmie
coconutmonkey 0 #2 April 11, 2002 Beer! then another beer. Repeat step #1. Besides, half the fun of JM new students is the look on your face when you finally 'get it' and start to fly.
ChromeBoy 0 #3 April 11, 2002 Congrats Emmie. I will be there soon so we can jump once you get off probation! You got your new rig all muddy? skycat 0 #4 April 11, 2002 WOOHOO!!!!! I knew you would get that landing thing figured out if you didn't have so much to stress about on the skydive. Way to go girl, trust me you will be off that probation thing in no time. btw....beer is usually a good way to say thanks, like his very favorite kind, not the kind that everyone else at the DZ likes Well and maybe flash him, I haven't met an instructor, video guy, or pilot yet who doesn't like that

I know what its like to pass AFF after such a long time, I did a SL course back in '99 only could go about once a month, failed almost every stage about 3 times (cant remember how many times I dumped on my back!) I hated it, but kept goin back for more. In the end I gave it up for a year, did 2 tandems and came back and did AFF this Janurary, which I passed a few weeks ago (failed stg 6 3 times due to my leg position but once I got past that I flew thru the rest of the stages) it was the best feeling to finally pass it and ring the bell!
