The stoning of women in Iran. This video was shot in 1991. It is the most horrific thing I have ever seen. The brutality is beyond comprehension. I warn you it is disturbing.

While you view it think about this -

This is Arafat’s clan folks. They come in many names across many countries - Fatah, Tanzim, Islamic Jihad, Hezbolla, Hamas, Al-Queda, Taliban, Abu-Sayeff, whatever.....they’re all cousins, brothers in arms in a common cause. Their goal is simple. They want to destroy Israel, America and the western and eastern empires. Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, all races and religions....everyone but themselves.

They now send in children strapped with explosives to kill as many as possible. The regimes of Iraq and Saudi Arabia are paying the families $25,000 per suicide bomber. Of course, when the Israelis smash a rat infested compound and kill some of the civilians they were hiding behind – then Israel is somehow considered to be brutal racist exterminators. Kofi Annan and all of Europe (Briton at least possesses sense) evidently believe it to be so. According to A&E’s special last night on Arafat we need to consider him a great leader and Freedom Fighter.

The Palestinian problem is really just a civil war - a war of proximity. Worldwide Islamic militancy is the bigger problem. The Palestinians war with all their neighbors not just Israel. The Jordanians, Syrians, Lebanese - everyone hates the Palestinians. Gee, I can’t imagine why. But the Islamic world will support them in a war against Israel like a Gator pulls for FSU over Miami.

The Islamic world knows that if the U.S. actually makes war then things will get much worse for them. They also know that where Israelis send ground troops with rifles and grenades we don’t fight that way. We send B-52s and have bombs with onomatopoetic names like Daisy Cutter. We’ll level your entire fucking burg if we think you’re in there. Then we send in troops. Israel could rocket these bastards into another universe. I think they are showing amazing restraint.

Nobody bitched at us when we flattened the Taliban and Lord knows killed hundreds of innocents in the process. Why the apoplexy when Jews do the wet work? Sharon is a pig but Arafat was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize? Oh yeah, I get it. This is really open unfettered racism against Jews yet again. But now it’s the allowable type of racism - much like the American version of acceptable racism – blacks’ racist antics against whites. Self proclaim yourself a victim and the PC crowd will grant you all sorts of atrocities.

The PC solution in dealing with these people is to negotiate once again. And Colin Powell trots off like a dutiful little Neville Chamberlain ever wary of that super threat “The Islamic Uprising” - as if current events haven’t made it painfully clear it has already begun. We need to face the reality that now that it has begun it has to be finished.
There will be a winner and a loser. Which will we be? The Nazis lost. If the Islamics had the technology and discipline that the Nazis possessed in 1944 we’d already be dead.

The only solution is to destroy the leaders of these brutal regimes so that negotiation with reasonable people can begin. Hopefully this kowtowing with the ‘little’ terrorist is all just a deflection for the real war with Saddam. Eliminating Saddam is first big step. The Ayatollah is next. If this isn’t the plan of the current White House then we’re doomed.

I agree with you on most of this but, I don't agree with the belief that Israel is somehow 'lily white' in this conflict. They have treated the Palistinians like second class citizens which is one large reason for the current Intifada. They have also tended to retaliate against the terrorists with a shotgun when a rifle was a better solution(a question of precision if you don't understand).
I know that Iraq is currently giving out $25,000 to the families of suicide bombers but haven't seen any proof of Saudi Arabia participating in this. Saddam has an ulterior motive in keeping the Isreali/Palistinian conflict going. As long as the focus is on this conflict the US will not be able to build support for a strike on Iraq. He will keep things stirred up for as long as he can.
We also must keep our conflict oriented towards terrorist organizations not the Muslim people in general. We don't have the ability, nor is it necessary for us to wage war against the entire Islamic world. We also can't have a war against terrorism. Terrorism is a tactic. You don't declare wars against tactics. That is like saying, this is a war against the 'Search and Attack'. Doesn't narrow things down real well. But.......I digress.

Dude....Comparing the situation in America to the one in Israel is apples and oranges. The land Israel inhabits has been contested for a very long time. Israel has only been a country since 1948. When it became a country many Arabs didn't like it. The Arabs did however start the shooting war. Ever since then violence has begotten violence. Americans were no doubt right when we went into Afghanistan because we were defending sovereign territory. Israel is a matter of who you believe is right.
All that being said. What does Israel have to do with this video. It seems the only purpose here is to demonize Arabs. Yeah, it was pretty horrible. I've seen some pretty bad shit. Even a couple people executed but never in such a brutal manner. However, what right does someone from the West have to tell an Arab half way around the world that he cannot live by his religous law. I don't think I have that right. I'll be back Monday or Tuesday to see 3 million replies to this post I'm sure.

Check today's WSJ. The Queen or Princess (I forget) of Saudi Arabia hosted a state sponsored telethon to collect donations for the families of Palestinian Martyrs (defined as those who died in the conflict, including suicide bombers).

People need to read their history - a) Palestinians are NOT and never have been "a people" - they have until last 35 years or so considered themselves Palestinian Arabs, b) 4/5 of 'Palestine' is in Jordan ( and Jordan hates there guts), and c) they have been offered 'land for peace' and have refused at least seven, count 'em 7 times since 1947. They don't want peace. They will only stop at the destruction of Israel. And, the Jews have lived uninterrupted - sometimes in great and sometimes in small numbers - in Eretz Israel (which includes most of present day Jordan) for over 3,000 years. (Of course they started out some 5,000 years ago, but spent a brief 1,500 or so years as slaves in Egypt).

Arabs basically had it from the Crusades 1096 or so, maybe 1200, until end of Ottoman Empire (I think around late 1890's - 1900's). While some Jews lived there the whole time (a few thousand at the end) the Arabs made a fucking desert of the 'Land of Milk and Honey'. It wasn't until the late 1800 with the beginning of the Zionist movement that Jews began to return in great numbers (precisely because it was a) their biblical ancestral home and b) such an uninhabited desert surrounded by swamp, mosquito-filled, disease festered place. They are the ones who again, against incredibly difficult odds, turned it back into an incredible land of milk and honey.

It is truly an AMAZING place. SO much history - all lovingly restored by the Jews. Under the Jews the Arabs are free to go to Al Aqsa (a place NOT even mentioned in the Koran) and ranking fairly low in the Muslim Top 10 list. The Christians can go to Holy Sepulcher Church where Christ was buried, walk the Via Dolorosa where Christ carried the cross, etc. And of course, Jews could go the Western Wall, the single most HOLY PLACE for Jews around the world and the only remaining part of the Second temple which was built around 100 BCE and destroyed by the Romans in 73 CE (AD). Of course this is some 650 years before Mohammed was even a gleam in his Daddy's eye and 1,000 years after the First Temple was built, before being destroyed by the Assyrians around 600 BCE. When the Arabs controlled Jerusalem, prior to the British Mandate after WWI, no Jews were allowed to visit the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, David's Tomb - nothing, NADA.

If Arabs get a hold of Israel again - it will GO TO SHIT!!! All you have to do is walk from the Jewish, Christian or Armenian quarters of the Old City (of Jerusalem) into the Arab quarter and you will immediately understand what I'm talking about! As Richard Pryor would say, The FUNK rush out and knock ya to yo' knees! OR if you prefer, cross the border at Sinai into Egypt and step back 1000 years (except for the resorts, infrastructure etc the Jews built after they defeated the armies of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Palestinian terrorist and Lebanese Arabs in 1973 and controlled Sinai until giving it back fully to Egypt (94% of the so-called "occupied territories" by the way) in 1990s.

Hi, all. Mostly I try to stay out of these kinds of discussions. But some interesting points have been made, and I'd like to add my thoughts....
Brief Current History:
1917 - Balfour Declaration on November 2 states: “His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of the existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.
Then, in 1922, the Council of the League of Nations issued a Mandate for Palestine. The Mandate was in favor of the establishment for the Jewish people a homeland in Palestine. It is thought that the mandate was established as a trade of sorts for the help the Jews as a whole gave the British in WW1....
Britain set things going by sending an envoy to the United Nations in motion, formally requesting on April 2, 1947, that the U.N. General Assembly set up the Special Committee on Palestine (UNSCOP). This committee recommended that the British mandate over Palestine be ended and that the territory be partitioned into two states. Jewish reaction was mixed - some wanted control of all of Palestine; others realized that partition meant hope for their dream of a homeland (they were divided even then, and willing to work towards the peace of the two nations). The Arabs were not at all happy with the UNSCOP plan. In October the Arab League Council (a coalition of Arab states, including Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, etc...) moved troops to the Palestine border. President Truman (and the US) supported the UN plan to establish a homeland of Israel. On November 29, 1947, the partition plan was passed by the U.N. General Assembly.
Less than 6 months later, on May 14, 1948, the Provisional Government of Israel
declared a new State of Israel. On that same date, President Truman (and the US), recognized the provisional Jewish government as the authority of the Jewish state. Actual recognition was given in January, 1949.
On May 15, 1949, on the the first Israeli Independence Day, Arab armies invaded Israel and the first "Arab-Israeli" war began.
750-800,000 of the arab (whatever that really means, you know?) population of
Palestine left their homes as the war exploded between the newly created Israel and it's neighboring countries. 4 camps were established in Syria then, and I forget how many established in Lebanon and Jordan. In 1967, the 6-Day War began between Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Israel. At this time more people fled (approximately 335K) from their camps in the West Bank and Gaza, as they were annexed by Israel as a result of the 6-day War. The land loss was unexpected and humiliating to the Syrian, Jordanain and Egyptian governments.
The Yom Kippur War (which is also known as the Ramadan War in some circles) in
1973 was brought about by the above referenced governments trying to retake the West Bank, Gaza and the rest of Israel. They were routed dismally, and Sharon was a significant part of that war, as was Arafat (who had been elected Chariman of the PLO in 1968...)
PLO's establishment in 1964 preceded the 6 day War, and they came fully onto the scene in 1968, and to total world attention in 1972 at the Munich Olympics (remember that? Not pretty).
The PLO Charter, established and recognized in 1968 as the "Mission statement" (to use current colloquialisms) has not been rewritten nor revamped to reflect any change in position or doctrine. In 1974, when Arafat spoke in the UN, he made his famous quote: "I come bearing an Olive branch and a gun. Don't make me drop the Olive branch"....that quote, to me, is the total reflection of the Charter: "we'll make peace if it suits us; the Olive branch is expendable - our guns (warfare) is not".
Arafat ain't no good guy....

It outlines the Palestinian position. The accords which have been reached do not meet the Charter's stated goals, and Arafat, as head of the PLO, refuses to accept anything other than the public ideology stated in the Charter. It speaks directly to the views that commando style raids are an acceptable solution. (More historical data is: it used to be that for each Palestinian who blew himself up, they would only take out 3 or 4 Israeli's. Recent history shows that this has flip-flopped: now, each suicide bomber takes out, on average, 9 people, and wounds in the neighborhood of 20....).
