Another odd lawsuit

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that's wonderful. Parents refuse to accept that the kid is just fucked up so they need to go after the company with the big pockets. "We couldn't have a raised a screwed up kid, it _must_ have been his pimple medicine."

That's absurd. Clearly the family should be suing the Cessna aircraft corporation instead, for designing an unsafe plane that does not have a BCAS system. They might also want to sue the architect who designed the building. Had he made it of rubber, instead of taking the cheap and easy way out to maximize his own profits, their son might be alive today.

You have GOT to be shitting me.....
[Rant] This is even slightly more absurd that the lawsuit I ranted about awhile back. Do these parents actually think that they're going to win this?! This sounds like an idea a small child would come up with. I do not understand how two adult parents could actually believe that a suit like this would stick. There wasnt even traces of this medicine in the little shit's body for god's sake!!!! They didn't know about the side effects? Bullshit. To my knowledge, most acne medications have a bunch of wierd side effects...hell...most medications PERIOD have side-effects- wouldn't they think it might be a good idea just to check and see what they are?! ARRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!>:(>:( [/Rant]
Sorry for the rant, but stupid-ass pointless lawsuits really piss me off....
...Whatever...anyways....BOOBIES!!!!!!:)

i seen this on nbc today on an add break of david letterman and some lady was talken to the family i dont think they are after money, from what i heard it sounded like they where more after an excuse for it.
on a side note if someone says in an interview that they arnt doing it for the money if they win can the judge give it to charity, cause they only wanted to make the company pay not acctualy get money :)Opinions are like a-holes everyone has one, the only one that does you any good is yours and all that comes out is shit

Well, that is a little more understandable (still rediculous though ;))...but if they aren't doing it for the money, then why so damn much?!

This isn't a problem in many other parts of the world.
What is wrong with your legal system?
And why isn't the case thrown out of court and the lawyer given a few days of jail for trying to waste the courts time on a frivolous lawsuit?
Nobody expects the...um...the Spanish...um...

opinion (yeah, like assholes)*******
Yeah, too many things going on in their lives to deal with what should have been the most important thing in their lives, their own son. Now the shame and guilt of knowing that they should have known he was in such a state of mind that suicide was, in his opinion, his only out. Grief causes people to do odd things and frivolously blaming others is not uncommon. The fact that there is a parasitic legal type (I won't defame real lawyers with the association) that eggs this type of behavior on (which also becomes another obstacle to the healing process) is sickening. Course, that's just my opinion.

I once popped a zit while driving and the puss shot out bounced off the windshield and back into my eye blinding me for a moment and I plowed into a tag sale. I was able to collect damages from my acne med company, the makers of my windshield and the people who were running the tag sale. Now I have jump money! Also, due to this incident I have lost the ability to write grammatically correct sentences. Future lawsuits are pending.
Skydivers...they're just plain cool!

If I remember correctly, this kid after 9/11 was heard to say that he supported bin Laden and that we deserved 9/11. Somebody tell me if I am incorrect but I think I remember reading that. That sounds to me like someone that wasn't really commiting suicide.

More oddities in this case -
His mother told doctors that there was no history of mental illness in his family, despite her own suicide attempt years earlier.
Despite claiming "it came out of the blue" his grandmother remembers him talking about funeral arrangements (in a nonspecific way) before the flight.

>One great story about mountain climbers in the Stans.
>One other story about this case. GEEZE, Mom just can't face the fact her kid
> was screwed up.
Yeah, I saw part of that. I thought the funniest part of the first one was the note that "some members of the climbing community did not believe their story." You could say the sky was blue and get an argument from the big wall crowd.
Parents suing someone because their child gets killed is very, very common. We have these pedestrian bridges all over Long Island in very odd places (deserted corners, near cemetaries) because a kid got killed running across the highway and the parent sued the state for not having a pedestrian bridge. "The state's negligence in not providing a pedestrian bridge for drunken teens to break into the cemetary at midnight caused my son's death."
The alternative is accepting that their son (or even they themselves themselves) are responsible for their deaths, and I think parents are genetically programmed to not be able to deal with that. By blaming someone else they can live with themselves.

>Mr. Von, are you an "Islander"?
Sorta. Born in Queens. (Note, though, that people in Brooklyn and Queens often don't like to admit they live on Long Island.) Raised in Oyster Bay of Billy Joel fame. (Historical note - Billy Joel actually went to high school in Hicksville, but Oyster Bay sounds better in songs.)
I went to school in Boston, then lived out on the island for a little while (Ronkonkoma) before I moved to San Diego.
>I grew up in Northport.
I used to fly over the Northport Stacks all the time . . . when I was flying back from Boston, that's what I'd look for as I started across the sound.
