ChromeBoy 0 #4 April 17, 2002 Quotes from the movie Office Space....Bob #1: We're trying to get a feel for what people do around here.. so, could you just walk us through a typical day for you?Peter: Well, sure Bob. I generally come in at least 15 minutes late. I use the side door; that way Lumbergh can't see me, and after that I just sorta space out for about an hour--Bob #2: Ah wait--space out?Peter: Yeah. I just stare at my desk. But it looks like I'm working. I do that for, uh.. probably another hour after lunch too. I'd say, in a given week, I probably only do about 15 minutes of real, actual.. work.Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day! -Office Space
ADRNALN 0 #5 April 17, 2002 So, is it skydiving or something deep in our personalities that have produced such unmoviated workers out of us? By the way, I did not use to be this way.

billvon 3,111 #9 April 17, 2002 Well I seem to vary between 80 hour work weeks and weeks that I go to work and just fool around all day. Lately it's been the latter. A project that I've been working on for over a year just got cancelled, so I'm taking a two-week 'work vacation' (i.e. I'm showing up, but I don't plan on actually doing anything.) Next week I think I'll start looking for my next project.-bill von

indyz 1 #14 April 17, 2002 I should be at work three days a week but this flu has been keeping me in the dorm. That and I just got an email saying that all of the tech support workers are being laid off at the end of the semester, so I just quit. Might as well use the last two weeks of the semester to study!--Brian
gale 0 #15 April 17, 2002 That explains a lot. Your posts are usually so technical and thought out. Your job seems to fit with that. By the way, that sounds really fun. Maybe I'll get to do something similar with my comp. sci. degree someday.Life's not worth living if you can't feel alive

gale 0 #18 April 17, 2002 The dark side huh. Yeah, that's what we call you up here too! (Just kidding) Yes, I'm considering it, you actually know how to pay your professionals there, plus, as you all know, one American dollar is worth like, a boatload Canadian. But I love the island, and don't know if I really want to leave. It's the most beautiful place in the world, in my opinion. And I've been all over Europe and in some of the states. We'll see. Oregon is pretty nice (and yes I'm sure other parts of the country are wonderful too, but I'm a west coast girl)GaleLife's not worth living if you can't feel alive
