Well, I have been working as a bartender at Cooker Bar & Grill for almost four years now. I found out Friday night that we were closing on MONDAY!! I was not told by my managers, they weren't allowed to tell anyone--except of course a few privelaged. The corp filed ch 11 last year, but things have been going well. This is just kind of wierd. I just can't believe they weren't allowed to tell the empolyees. I know it was because they though no one would show up for their shifts afterward, but hey, we all still need money. So, I guess I will have many many free weekends this summer to spend at the dz. This is the only positive thing I can pull out of this. Just thought I would share. Got any job ideas that is not in the restaurant business? --don't know if I can do that again..

Hotels pay well. And you don't go away smelling like food at the end of the day either. maybe look for something in sales or as a f&b supervisor. Good luck! Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day! -Office Space

Hey Rose! I'm thinking we can get together an unemployed dz.comers big way! Whaddaya think? Of course, I'll have to wait a bit before I can partake and by then everyone else will have found employment. Drat! Oh well. Everything happens for a reason (you KNOW I've gotta believe that!)

I think that is a great idea...but how will I afford it?? or any of us for that matter. One good thing about all of this is that if I can't find anything, I can work for my mom. So, I at least I will be able to pay the bills (some...).
I don't think I could start my own business. I don't know what I would sell.. perhaps I will just stand on a corner with a sign "will work for jumps" I think I may get a few strange looks
