gale 0 #1 April 21, 2002 Sorry, apparently this is something that skydivers innately know, but where did this term come from? GaleLife's not worth living if you can't feel alive
freeflir29 0 #2 April 21, 2002 NOPE....not gettin off that easy. You must now sit through the entire movie "Dropzone" (I think it is) to find out the answer. "It's all about the BOOBIES!"

gale 0 #5 April 21, 2002 "You must now sit through the entire movie "Dropzone" (I think it is) to find out the answer"Then do I have to write a 10 page paper explaining its signifigance to the skydiving culture at large? Well, OK. It's a good time to do it when I'm our with a f*cked up ankle. I can dream about skydiving even if I can't do it.GaleLife's not worth living if you can't feel alive
freeflir29 0 #6 April 21, 2002 QuoteThen do I have to write a 10 page paper explaining its signifigance to the skydiving culture at large?I really think it would be impossible to get 10 pages out of that movie..."It's all about the BOOBIES!"
quade 4 #7 April 21, 2002 Gale --Let's make this a drinking game (actually, I already have).Get your hands on a copy of the movie "Cutaway" and everytime somebody says the word "whuffo" you have to take a shot of whiskey. It makes the movie a lot better and you'll find out what the word means.BTW, you also have to take a shot everytime you see the phone number 1-800-sky-dive.quadehttp://futurecam.com
AggieDave 6 #8 April 21, 2002 If you really want to get tore, take a shot every time there is something that is not based in skydiving reality.A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
quade 4 #9 April 21, 2002 Actually, there's a heck of a lot more truth to "Cutaway" than most skydivers give it credit. There's a couple of scenes that I've lived out. It's very laughable for it's sillyness in some places, but um, the movie is actually based in a certain amount of reality -- including a drug running scheme to financially support a national team.quadehttp://futurecam.com
YahooLV 0 #10 April 21, 2002 Nah, I believe that the "wuffo" speech is clearly made in "REDLINE"S speech in the greatest skydive movie ever put together with duct tape and tape ends "Cutaway".
YahooLV 0 #11 April 21, 2002 You did one of those "tent scenes?!?"
wingnut 0 #12 April 21, 2002 i think my fav. line from cutaway was: "if your going to do the team, don't "do" the team"....... made me bust up laughing......... and actually i have contimplated several of those situations myself... like cuting away from the "real" world and moving to the dz...... now, hitting the peas while in a track is another story all in itself..... but hey, i liked the movie..... and wuffo, well i think it say it all for itself....... lets just say it was thought up by the forefathers of skydiving and will forever be famous.... it gets the "-unknown" behind the quote............"i may not go to heven, i hope you go to hell"-C.C. FallRate 0 #13 April 21, 2002 So is no one going to let Gale know the origin of the word? I'm pretty sure she knows what it means.FallRate

airann 1 #15 April 21, 2002 I own a copy of Cutaway and the movie poster, -white wooden frame. I am currently in search of the movie poster for DropZone and that other one, I forgot...And I think I may want the new one Triple X, it has a ton of skydiving in it. Although we lost a brother in that one, the stunt man. He was from Calif. Also Point Break, just because of the skydiving in it and also because I have jumped out of that exact plane before...... I also have a print of a painting from 1810 of a boy picking fleas off his dog........It is said its a masterpiece. ~Looks like a boy picking fleas off his Brittany Spaniel to me~ So stuff like that is worthy of a frame and a place on my wall. Comedy, if you look hard enough. Over the mantel is Albert Einstien. He reminds me of me..... Although I dont smoke a pipe. Ann ~ www.AirAnn.comAnyone want a Kitten?
