Scratch 0 #29 April 24, 2002 Ordinary construction steel, girders, beams etc.I am trying to figure out what temp that hanger fire got to.The steel construction had not melted but the roof beams had sagged so that the whole thing looked like a MacDonalds M.Every day above ground is a good day. skymedic 0 #30 April 24, 2002 that sounds like a light weight truss....that collapsed...doesn't take much heat for those to give out...as it only takes one part of the puzzle to give out.....for the whole thing to come down....Cheers....vasbytmarc"I have no fear of falling, I just hate hitting the ground"-The Badlees... Scratch 0 #31 April 24, 2002 No trusses that I remember.Flat roofed hanger with straight I-Beam horizontal supports approx 6"web these bowed into a U. The vertical support columns had bent over as the roof sagged down, hence the M shape. The plane aluminium was ashed...freaky.Every day above ground is a good day. Scratch 0 #33 April 24, 2002 I suppose the best discription would be that it looked like the inside of a huge cold, empty pizza oven( with a buckled roof). The only things left to see were two engine blocks with partially melted props, two landing gears and the remains of a motorcycle frame. There was a light grey ash on the floor in a crucifix shape where the wings and fuselages were.Every day above ground is a good day.
