AggieDave 6 #1 April 29, 2002 This coming weekend, May 4th and 5th, Eagle Flight Skydiving is having a Super Cessna Boogie. They're going to have 5 C-182s, with vintage gear loads, hit & chugs, flour bombing contest, accuracy contest (using Rounds!) with a cash reward, free beer Saturday night and many other fun times. This is going to be a boogie in the tradition of the boogies of yester-year, using multipul Cessnas to put together formation loads and such.Sure, anyone can put together a SCR load or a 20-way out of a Super Otter, but can you do it out of more then one 182?A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
AggieDave 6 #2 April 29, 2002 Sorry, Eagle Flight Skydiving is in Granbury, TX, which is about a hour outside of Ft. Worth.http://www.eagleflightskydiving.com/A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
SkydiveMonkey 0 #3 April 29, 2002 Sounds like a laugh - don't know about the rounds though !! boobies - the cause of, and solution to, all of lifes problems
freeflir29 0 #4 April 29, 2002 Isn't this kinda like going to a Yugo car club rally? "Hi my names Clay F and I'm a turbineholic...." "It's all about the BOOBIES!"
AggieDave 6 #5 April 29, 2002 No, its more like a Wego, instead of Yugo, rally, since you can fit more then one person in, just not that many... (Yeah, that was bad, sorry...)I guess I'm a sucker for old traditions/old skool stuff like this. Yeah, it would have been cool to have something like a DC-3, but this is how the smaller DZs used to do big(ger) formation loads back in the day...A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
SkydiveMonkey 0 #6 April 29, 2002 Hey - I've been jumping cessnas for almost all of my life !! boobies - the cause of, and solution to, all of lifes problems

It had a 16 way I think out of several Cessnas. "It's all about the BOOBIES!"
AggieDave 6 #8 April 29, 2002 How many of the people you normally see on the "big way" jumps could LO something like that and pull it off? *shrug* Who knows, they've probably never tried, that's one of the reasons its going to be fun. Probably half the DZ regulars out there built their SCR out of 2 182s...We're also going to try some FreakBros flying, as seen in some vintage footage: RW on your back, etc. A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
freeflir29 0 #9 April 29, 2002 QuoteRW on your back, etcDude...we had a hybrid all planned out with an RW guy or two that was going to do that. Unfortunately, we decided that the copious amount of Industrial Haze formations was not conducive to having about 15 people in the same airspace. So we all split up..... That was sunset load and I never got anyone to do it on Sunday. Dammitt...."It's all about the BOOBIES!"
Topcat 0 #10 April 29, 2002 QuoteIsn't this kinda like going to a Yugo car club rally? Blasphemy! Cessna 182's used to be the workhorse of skydiving - in many places it still is.Think of it more like a Classic VW Beetle rally I learned out of a larger airplane, but the more time I get in this sport the more I appreciate a Cessna. The best skydives I have had recently have been out of a Cessna, and we have access to a Turbine. (most likely because the jumps were with old timers, who aren't as picky). -Sandy
