Let me think.....the Oklahoma City bombing was carried out by......umm.....let me think........WHITE GUYS. To that date it was the worst terrorist act on US soil. The uni-bomber was uhh......WHITE. The women's clinics in the south were bombed by....uhhhhh.....white guys! The suspect in the Atlantic Olympic park bombing was.....uhh.....a white guy. The man convicted of shooting Martin Luther King, Jr. was....uh....WHITE. The Columbine Highschool shooters were....let me think......WHITE.
Yah, white guys aren't capable of terrorism. Sure. Cut that "round 'em up" attitude out. I deal with the airline industry on a daily basis. Did you know that the number one threat on an aircraft today is still a white male in first class who's been drinking alchohol?

heh, this reminds of that time that this one extreme feminist group decided that since the maths and sciences were mostly advanced through white men that they must be biased. lol. logic is logic is logic.
while i have some male muslim friends and try not to discriminate based on race or ethnicity, etc, only a fool would disregard where the bulk of the threat of terrorism historically comes from. if it was white males that matched my description i would have no problem with profiling even if it meant i got searched every time. that's life and reality.

I get strip searched almost every time I go through Security at the airport. I'm white. So where is your logic? We recently had a guy get a gun through security from Tampa to Memphis. It was a WHITE guy. No, you're right. No white guy would ever do anything to harm a flight. Wasn't D.B. Cooper a white guy?

Blantant profiling is of course bad socially, but to ignore the facts on what was presented would be foolish. Yeah, every race and creed has done something hanous, human nature. If horrible deeds had been commited by 17-30 yr old white guys with military hair cuts who were built like they've been cornfed all their life and I got stopped at airports for searches, I really wouldn't give a flyingf**k, especially if it stopped something else from happening.
You know, that scene from Airplane! comes to mind, where the tangos were allowed through security with guns and stuff, but the little grandmother was stopped...

I love this.......I distrust any statement that starts "I have some friends", because that usually means that the next sentence will be why it's ok to infringe on those peoples rights because of the way they look. followed by I would put up with it which is easy to say when you know you won't be asked to put up with it. your reality would probably lead to interment camps for all male muslims and I will have no part of it thanks for offering

You know, it really pains me that people are being inconvenienced in the name of security. Some are even [gasp] getting their feelings hurt! The tighter the security gets the more it will become an inconvenience. Either learn to live with it or learn to live with the constant threat of another terrorist attack.
Just because they are looking at a certain profile for a terrorist does not mean that everyone who fits that profile is a terrorist. It only means that they don't have the resources to do a 100% check of everything and everyone that flies on a commercial airline so they are focusing on the more likely candidates. All of the whining from everyone who believes their 'civil liberties' have been violated makes me sick.
I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters.

That doesn't bother me. What does worry me is that if we do make a habit of profiling, we will essentially be telling terrorists "Hey, send someone who looks like John Walker Lindh to blow up that airplane and he'll sail through security!"
History has shown that there is no shortage of white male terrorists. I would not want to implement a system that allows such terrorists a better opportunity to kill people.
