Renewing

Recommended Posts

If you were'nt required to renew your USPA membership to jump at most DZ's, would you?
Yes
No
Possibly
Only if the GM program was eliminated or the benifits to the members increased

I believe the third party liability insurance that comes with the membership is worth the fee itself. But, I also get a Magazine that while it may have flaws, is nice and useful on the whole.
I disagree with the GM program but not to the level that I would boycot membership. I believe that we have enough push going on that the GMP will go away in the next 2 years.

Well... the GMP does nothing to represent the DZ's the DZO's do that as is. All the GMP does is say pay a fee and we'll certify you as an approved place to jump. Part of being a GM DZ is that you agree everyone that jumps at your DZ will be a USPA member. Thats been taken so far as to make out of country residents join to jump even after they are members of their home organization. The program loses money every year and costs each USPA member money if they use it or not.
Would Perris suddenly shut down if the GMP ended? How about Eloy?

The PIA is there for a reason dont ya think???

I don't remember the PIA doing anything to get the DZs active again after 9/11. I could be wrong.

Thank the AOPA for that one... .the USPA had a little push too but the main thrust came from the AOPA. I knew about the DZ's being opened from the AOPA for a long time before I heard the first thing from the USPA about it.

geez-louize! what is it? the $45.00? surely not, it not like it's some kind of commie organization that's trying to take over the sport. i'm a member of USPA, and will always be, i pay my dues when they send the invoice each year, why is it such a big deal? like it, or not, it isn't going to go away, and it will more than likely be the one organization that keeps the government from one day regulating the sky diving community. the same people complaining about this organazation are some of the first to post, (in this forum) and proudest to have the're photographs, and/or articles written and displayed in parachutists every month. i wonder how many would be complaining if the membership was free? why complain about "paying uspa dues" when i dissagree with 120 day reserve cycles, but i pony up the money, because that's the way it is.......

Don't you think that this is more in the role of 'major customer' rather than 'member'?
