SkydiveMonkey 0 #1 April 29, 2002 Anyone know where I can get hold of a cheap 4 line ram air kite for those long times in between lifts at my C182 DZ? I don't mind if it's 2nd hand. boobies - the cause of, and solution to, all of lifes problems
freaksister 0 #2 April 30, 2002 No I don't know where you can get a cheap one, but I know who makes new ones. LOL We even one a 50% off certificate for one this weekend at the boogie. Brian Germain of Big Air Sportz makes them, as well as some company up in Colorado somewhere, I can't remember their name though.SisWasting away again in Margaritaville.... skip 0 #3 April 30, 2002 When you say 4 line kite, are you talking about steering lines? I recently bought a Ram Air Kite and it has 2 steering lines, and as I researched more and more I found out I know nothing about kites, but this thing is hella a-lotta fun to fly. I will definitely be sporting a 6 x 2 foot canopy during the next wind hold I have to sit through. .:skip.:skip
SkydiveMonkey 0 #4 April 30, 2002 4 steering lines - works the same as the front risers / brakes on a skydiving canopy. It's cool cos you can dive it towards the ground pull the brakes, stop it in mid air, turn 180 and fly up again !! wicked stuff boobies - the cause of, and solution to, all of lifes problems

freaksister 0 #6 April 30, 2002 I can't remember exactly, but I think the smallest one runs about $195. They make them all the way up to 90 something square feet for "kite surfing." Anyway, you can always email them about it, or he may have info. on his website. www.bigairsportz.com He and Michelle were at the boogie this weekend and had a bunch of them along. Everyone loved them! They are NICE kites.SisWasting away again in Margaritaville....
AggieDave 6 #7 April 30, 2002 Hey, if you really want to f**k with people, show up to a new DZ with the kite on some mini-risers, attatched to your rig and start packing in the middle of the packing area when its busy...Atleast I think that would be a good laugh, to "pack" it...of course I don't mean to actually jump it, etc.A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
