sunshine 2 #1 May 1, 2002 I love my new canopy!! My brand new Sabre2 arrived last Friday and i finally got to jump it today!! It is so much nicer than my stiletto. I only got a chance to jump once. My baby opened up in line twists, but i easily cleared them and had a blast under canopy!! Just wanted to share my happiness."A day without sunshine is....well....it's dark"

Jimbo 0 #4 May 1, 2002 I put about 6 jumps on a Sabre2 170 @1.5:1 last weekend. This is one nice canopy. Seemed to have a flatter glide than my Safire, faster turns, lighter/more responsive on the front risers, great glide in brakes to make it back from that long spot, and the landings are a dream! I'm planning to demo a few more canopies this summer, but the Sabre2 scored big points with me. I really don't want to jump my Safire anymore. I shouldn't demo things I can't afford. -Jim

Deleted 0 #6 May 1, 2002 if you like it more than your stiletto, my guess is that you downsized and or changed to an eliptical wing before you were ready. The sabre2 is a NICE canopy. I've put about 30 jumps on the 107. However, it's still a step below the stiletto in performance. It would make a great first canopy at lower wing loadings, or a nice wing for an experianced jumper at higher loadings if they didn't want all of the zip (and risk) that comes along with an elitical like the stiletto. Great opennings, and long recovery arch (longer lines). Onlly opend "quick" once for me.skiesLeFreak
sunshine 2 #7 May 1, 2002 Quoteif you like it more than your stiletto, my guess is that you downsized and or changed to an eliptical wing before you were ready. I went from a stiletto 170 to a sabre2 170. I got the stiletto at about 150 jumps on the advice of many people. I was definately not ready for it. After jumping it about 50 times, i finally decided it was time to get rid of it. It's not much fun to jump when the canopy ride is scary. I jumped Wildblue's Sabre2 170 while his leg was healing, and i liked it and decided to buy my own. I know most people wouldn't go from a stilleto to a sabre2 but i can admit the stiletto was too extreme for me."A day without sunshine is....well....it's dark"

Milo 0 #12 May 1, 2002 What does a new Sabre2 cost? Paragear.com says $1492 for a 150, but that is 'list price' what are the real word prices?milo
Jimbo 0 #13 May 1, 2002 That is the real world price. PD charges closer to $1800.00 I believe.-Jim
skybytch 273 #14 May 1, 2002 QuoteParagear.com says $1492 for a 150, but that is 'list price' That is not the list price. List for a Sabre2 ranges from around $1700 to over $2000. You can easily find them for 20% off list price with a few phone calls.PD doesn't sell directly to the public, btw... only through dealers.pull & flare, lisa[subliminal msg]My website Go Now[/subliminal msg]

Shark 0 #18 May 1, 2002 Hi Sunshine,Congrats! I put around 20 jumps on a Sabre2 170 before my Spectre arrived a month ago. It is a very good handling canopy and lands/swoops really well. In fact, it lands "bigger" than it really is. What I mean is that it flares and glides like something larger. The 150 loaded at 1.3 was much better for me overall, with only a few jumps to test it out. The only thing I didn't like was the inconsistent openings. Almost half of my openings had closed end cells on one or both sides. On one event I thought the brake came loose as I opened in a hard turn. I stopped it with opposite rear riser before checking and releasing the brakes. After a few challenging openings, I contacted PD and John LeBlanc. He mentioned that it may be due to my packing technique. I packed it like a pack my Spectre leaving the center cell hanging and folding the outer cells in. He told me to leave the nose hanging without pushing it in. From then on it worked great! An occaissional 180 off heading at times, but for the most part very nice. By the time I got it down, it was time to return my demo to PD. Then my Spectre arrived the next weekend. Anyways, you will have a blast with your new love!!Come on down to SoCal and 'Snore. FallingILweenie 0 #24 May 1, 2002 Well, the triathlon i have, loaded as it is, wont go forward in anything more than like a 15 mph wind. And in damn near any wind i have to set up pretty much right over where i wanna land or i will fall short. Also it takes me forever to come down....at morris a couple weekends ago, i got caught in an updraft and the TANDEMS on the load at one point were lower than me."Marge, it takes 2 people to lie.
