I may not be a computer geek, or a movie geek, or even a beer geek.
But I am a book geek!!
Jean Auel's latest chapter in the Earth's Children series just came out, 12 *choke, wheeze* long years after the last installment. Twelve stinking years! I mean come on!
If you're unfamiliar with her work, this is the series that started with Clan of the Cave Bear. Stephen King has described the genre as "sex among the cave people."
Anyway, I now have 753 pages of pure literary pleasure awaiting me. I am beside myself. Taking nominations for new screen name.

I'm not a self acclaimed book geek but I'm reading a book right now called " Survivor " by Chuck Palahniuk (the author of Fight Club. ) Its about this guy that is the last remaining survivor of the creedish death-cult who didn't drink the kool-aid or commit sucide after the "Deliverance". Very funny mocking of the media and television evangilists.
Its only in drugs or death we'll see anything new, and death is just too controlling - Chuck Palahniuk

I used to stay in the Shelterstone, its an awsome place, when I was climbing in the Cairngorms a long time ago, but we digress.....you would have liked it there though....
PS I'm re-reading Terry Pratchet's Guards Guards and laughing my lardy ass off again.

Best book I've read (out of not many ) is Bravo Two-Zero by Andy McNab. Awesome book - especially as it's a true life story. Best comedy book I've read is Red Dwarf, although I'm reading Colony by the same author and that's quite good so far ....
