SpeedRacer 1 #1 May 11, 2002 OK I've had 7 beers so far. I had to BUY all those beers, because now that I've gotten back into home brewing, I've gotta wait a few weeks for those beers to mature.Anyway tomorrow I'm going to a local "Celtic" festival, just outside of Frederick MD. (oooooh, I still haven't had that house warming party!!)_so anyway there will be a lot of Scottish Americans there....Also my homebrew group will be there with the Scottish Ale and Irish Stout that they brewed on St. Patricks Day....But anyway I'm going to this Celtic Festial where there will be (ugh) men in skirts tossing telephone poles etc. There will also be this Scottish food there called "haggis". My question is: Should I be brave & try the "haggis"?? Or is it really made from sheep guts & oatmeal??Oh & by the way, I was just looking at the previews from an old Comedy Central tape of South Park, and I heard this great quote from the great Scottish country song: "If Loving Ewes is Wrong I Don't Want to be Right!"Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!" Just 'cause they'd had more sheep than him they made him feel inferior....Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!"

SpeedRacer 1 #6 May 11, 2002 Shit. I just heard from my homebrew group F.O.A.M.(Frederick Original Ale Makers). Apparently some panty-waist government busy-bodies have flaunted their authority in not letting us distribute our fine home-brewed Scottish Ale and Irish Stout at this festival. Let me just say that I love my country, but sometimes it's just a little too uptight and too puritanical here. There are JUST TOO MANY FUCKING RULES!!! What is the big deal about spreading the enjoyment of delicious home-brewed ale among your countrymen??? Fuckin' mellow out, America!! My ancestors came from Ireland, where the social center is the pub. Why do we have to be a nation of such tight-assed, uptight, hard-working pricks all the time??I believe beer is a wonderful thing. As the great American Ben Franklin said, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!" See, our forefathers understood!! Why can't America fuckin' relax about this shit?? And while we're on the subject of American uptightness, why don't we have more topless and nude beaches here??!!!Just venting but I think it's important...So who's with me on this??Speed Racer"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!" SkydiveMonkey 0 #7 May 11, 2002 haggis - sheeps heart, lungs, liver boiled in it's own stomach. Tastes like sausages. Mainly cos that's what most sausages are made out of It sounds rank, but it tastes ok. Not one of vegitarians though !! When I grow up, I want to be a post whore

Hey, I am willing to accept distribution of your homebrew! I'll PM you my address and you can feel free to send me all you care to. I'm a homebrewer and Scottish Ales are my favorite so I'll give you some good feed back!I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters.
