Awww your sooo nice.....see what I mean folks?
'If I don't see agin in this world, I'll see you in the next one, don't be late' --Jimmi Hendrix-Voodo Chile, (also immortalised by local boy Stevie Ray Vaughan).
The skydiving world is a very small one Jessica, I'm sure we'll meet at some blown out, back of beyond DZ, somewhere over the rainbow, way up high........

Maybe I do have it all wrong and I am the negative one.
--------------
Don't be hard on yourself. I think it might be a function of not getting on here much, not being familiar with the tones that many people take when they are serious vs. joking vs. sarcastic, insulting, etc. I think this really does resemble a family or a dropzone. Difference is, like someone pointed out, we're jumping at the dropzone, not sitting at work looking for something to do or to bitch about. Also, though, it's a difference in interpersonal communication...there is a mountain of information about someone's attitude that you can get from looking at their face. They may say something that, when written, would come off extremely harsh. I am finding that in learning sign language, that their expressions and wording are so different from English, that a lot of times, they can be misconstrued as harsh and/or rude. I think that looking past that comes, in a big part, from being familiar with different people's personalities and writing styles.
Anyway, point is, I totally see where you are coming from, but I enjoy the interactions (even though everyone thinks I'm a dick). :-)

Wow! You must have really selective reading. Did you miss the posts where everyone pitched in to help Ann when she needed it most? Have you missed all the posts where everyone has been cheering me on through my small achievements in my healing process? Or how when gale got discouraged after her recent injury there was nothing but support and encouragement for her? I think you should click on more that just the hot topics before you pass judgement. For me recovering from an injury alone - it is my family here that really cheered me on and made me smile each and every day. Thanks guys!

I don't wanna say cause I don't want to jynx myself... but I did 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer at the highest setting yesterday and my quads are already looking nice and curvy. ;) I am pulling my rig out tonight to start packing..... oh, the intoxication smell of rig! Yes - I AM packing for fun. Just the fact that I can kneel is a true blessing! Hallelujah!

Good news on the Physio, keep it up.. You are right of course, in that you don't want to commit to a date, but on the other hand, having a date goal helped me when I was in your situation. Of course I had to keep revising it, as I simply wasn't ready as soon as I hoped.
You'll know when its right for you.

-----------------
I didn't say I had a GF, I said there was a girl who let me have sex with her. :-)
And regarding "donkey dick", I just gotta say one thing...you are what you eat...oh, wait a second, that only works when someone calls you a pussy...damn...strike that...I'll come up with a better response...

Kinda late for my post but oh well.
I have never seen people argue or been uncivil here (unless they are pissed at students making low turns front riser turns). I have learned alot about skydiving thanx to the forums (thanx people). What I have seen are instructors and riggers posting what they think and debating it to a conclusion that will help newbies (like me) and also help them as instructors with theyr students (very good feedbacks).
Inside the talkback forum I read stuff that are funny, instructive and sometimes I read something that piss me off but oh well life is not just fun and games, so I ignore it and read something else or post my opinion without been aggressive.
Do some reading and you might get my point of view.
Thanx Sangiro for the dropzone.com! I would really like to buy you a jump ticket but me have no money, but if you come to Panama I will buy you some beers and drive you to the DZ.

It really is unfortunate that you feel that way. It goes completely against my experiences... I've met a good bunch of really awsome people here. I'm gonna be driving 4 hours to hook up with the Archway contingent next weekend. I'm going to be flying down to Pheonix to hook up with the so-cal contingent. Literally every dz.com'er I've met has just been great to hang out with. I've met friends who I know I'll keep in touch with for a VERY long time....
I'd suggest you track down some locals in your neighborhood... hang out, find what they're all about. If New Jersey people are anything like the ones I've met here, well - you'll have fun.

Speaking of physical therapy... let me tell you about Bill the Evil Physical Therapist...
Yesterday I go to see Bill. He makes me do the wobble board, stand on one leg, kick one leg out, steps, wall squats, leg presses, one-legged dip, stand on these air-filled disks, walk the inclined treadmill *backwards* for awhile (which is harder than it sounds) ride the bike for awhile... then, I think I'm done... we usually end with the bike... but Bill is feeling more sadistic than normal.. he wants to do the stair master thing. Well, let me tell you, there's no cheating on this thing - you have to step fast enough to keep it at the top of its range. So Bill sets the thing for 7 minutes and I get to work. He comes back 5 minutes later: "How ya doing?" me (breathing heavily and sweating profusely - hey, I've been doing thsi crap for a solid hour now!): "pretty good" ... so he reaches up, and bumps the speed up on the thing. Bastard! If I had something sharp and pointy at the time, I would have jabbed it in his eye! Oh well, I'll take some solice in the fact that Bill's a pansie, and I can't talk him into doing a tandem.
So after all that I'm pretty sore/exausted/wore out.. and I have to drive 45 minutes to the doctor's where I sit for an hour waiting to talk to him for 5 minutes, the drive 45 minutes back home.
I know, I know... Bill is just doing his job, and I"ll probably thank him for it someday... but right now I just want to jab him in the eye.
You don't scare me! I got chunks of guys like you in my stool!!
