Snowbird 0 #1 May 19, 2002 Because I did my first freefall 8 hours ago and I can't sleep!Wooohoo! How amazing was that? I've got perma-grin plaster across my face so hard that my cheeks hurtIt took a few extra IAD's to get my arch figured out, but wow! And it felt so natural once I figured it out! So on the last load of the day I go for my first freefall. Stomach was a mess. Nerves were frayed. But I just knew it would be fine. So the door opened, I got out, I hung there, and when Andrew said go, I did. Arched nice and smooth, no hurry, stayed calm and pulled, watched my grinning jm go headfirst from the 182, then got to hover in the wind that had moved in during the flight up. Oh man, just talking about it makes my heart speed up! That was so bloody awesome! And as absolutely rockin as that was, the other thing that blew my mind was the support from everyone! Cheering and clapping and hugs all around and high fives; I don't think I've ever done anything where so many people are so thrilled to see others succeed. My jm's - Koyne and Kiwi and Andrew - are awesome! Bonus of the day - I'm judging my own flare now, and stood up every one! Anyone know how to relieve cheek cramps from perma-grin?
