ass update part 3

well guys, itanother update on my ass..well not really my ass but that's what's been hurting lately....wen't to a doctor last friday and he shot me up with some cortizone in my spine..it was actually pretty cool. they used "concious sedation" so i was "out" but i wasn't out as it was totally... it was wierd..i cold feel them stick me with the need le cuz it hurt like hell but the 20 minute procedure seemed like 2 minutes. it was petty cool. it helped my back alot. i don't have to take my pain pills anymore but it still hurts. i get another round this friday. hopefully i'll feel well enough to make it to the memrial day boogie at emeald coast skydiving........fast forward to today..... went to see the nurosurgon today in mobile alabama, a 2 hour drie...luckily i got somebody to drive me in an extended cab ford f350 so i layed down on the back seat the whole way... finally found the place on the campus of south alabama university and saw the doctor... he said i had one helluva bulging disk.. i then said al tleast it's not the bigest youv'e seen right? and then he supised me and said no...but it is very close...damn!!!!! he recomended surgery...wants to cut away some of my vertebray, move over my nerve root that is beeing pinched and cut away the disc that is buldgingout then slip my nerve root back into place and sew me up..says i should only be in the hospital for two days and i would be up and walking around the hospital the day after the surgery. i'm not sure what i am going to do though. i'm going to have to think about it for a while, hopefully the shots will help alot more and i won't have to have em cut me open........oh well...that's life........ i think the worse thing is i'm dz.com derpaved cuz i have to force myself to stand/ kneel infront of my computer to read the forum..man i miss the forum and all you guys... well that's it.. i'll keep ya updated on my progress. blues........

sounds like the same thing i had done about 16 years ago. i was supposed to stay in hospital for a week, but i was wandering around after a couple of days and hitched home after 4. funniest part of the whole thing was when they removed the bandage over the incision (about a foot square fabric adhesive bandage on my lower back/upper butt). as she's peeling this thing off me (and i'm climbing the wall) she comments "they really should have shaved you before putting this on."

I hope the cortisone shots work better for you than they did for me. They helped, but never did completely take the pain away.
Don't stress on the surgery if you and the doc decide that's what you need. Mine was more extensive than it sounds like they want to do on you, but even through the muscle pain afterwards (they had to move them out of the way to get to my spine) I could tell that my problem was fixed. Now my right butt cheek only hurts when I overdo it (or get severely spanked on opening ) - and it's never anywhere near as bad as it was.
Did they give you any exercises to do? Be religious about doing them - every day - through the pain. They help a lot.
And find a rollaway bed to put in front of the computer! pull & flare,

Wow...that really sucks! I'll let ya know for sure by tomorrow if I'm coming down there or going to Eloy for the weekend. If I make it to Emerald Coast we can at least drink some beers and hang out. You can sit on the deck of the bar and watch me rip some swoops across the beach!!! "Here I come to save the BOOBIES!"
