Update on my shoulder injury.

Recommended Posts

It's not my shoulder. The injury is in my neck. It appears I may have a herniated disc in my neck. I go for X-Rays tomorrow and will know more on Friday. If you have no clue what I am talking about, you can read my "I'm not a skydiver" post.
My life has been a train wreck in the past 3 weeks. Also, my job sucks!
Chromeboy, any good hotel jobs you know of in the Boston area? Great hotel experience here.:)If you're not confused, you're not paying attention.

Oh man, only because you are in pain am I going to hold my tongue. You set yourself up with that line! ;)
Sorry everything is so bad. But, just think, it probably can't get much worse, so the future will be better!

An X-Ray? a MRI will show soft tissue damage much better than the X-Ray will. usually they use an X-Ray to pin point where the problem may be, and then use an MRI for further diagnostics. I just went through that -- I got a nerve getting beat upon, makes my hand go numb and pains my shoulder on occasion, it actually feels better when I excersize. It is slowly healing. once healed the disc will have some scar tissue so it won't be as prone to happening again. Yes, I jump with it, but try not to creep very long as that's what really irritates it, a good stretch helps too. the issue is between C6/7 for me.

Hey Chris -
Sorry to hear about your neck. I had something similar last fall. My right arm kept getting all tingly and going a bit numb... kind of like when you sit on your foot and it falls asleep. First they treated me for my shoulder but then my doctor sent me for x-rays of my neck and it showed something up between C5 and C6. She got me all nervous saying I might need surgery and stuff but then sent me for an MRI. It turned out not being as bad as they thought. I have some degeneration and something else. I forget exactly. I was just happy whatever it was didn't involve surgery. I was on 800mg of ibuprofen 4x a day for quite a while and the symptoms went away and it really hasn't bothered me too much. Just a few flare ups but ibuprofen seems to help. Hopefully yours won't be too serious either. It really sucks when a bunch of things happen around the same time. It can wear you down. Don't let it. Hang in there and try to keep your spirits up. Better days will come. Let us know how you make out. Good luck!
Blue Skies,
D
