gravitysurf808 0 #1 May 23, 2002 Being in the wacked out time zone that I am in, I frequently look and find myself in here along with my brothers and sisters on the other side of the Atlantic.Out of curiosity...what is the weather like there right now in the UK? Is it jumpable? Outlook for the weekend?Made too many jumps at home (Michigan) from 3,000 feet or lower due to some damn cloud ceiling!! FallRate 0 #2 May 23, 2002 I thought that the reason they call it the UK is because the weather is always lousy. As in: "UuuuKkk, the weather here sucks!" FallRate

Wasn't trying to rub it in at all....in fact we have been rained out the last 3 out of 4 weekends !Just trying to get a feel for when the jumping weather starts "coming on" for our skydiving friends on the neighboring continent."This is the 4th time I've been late for work this week!!...and it's only Tuesday!" ...Cheech and Chong

skreamer 1 #7 May 23, 2002 QuoteMade too many jumps at home (Michigan) from 3,000 feet or lower due to some damn cloud ceiling!! Dude, I can totally relate to that! Thing is they don't even have proper seasons over here, it just rains a little less at some times than others. And if they had proper winters with snow it wouldn't be so bad, but it is always just grey drizzle. If I had a European passport I think Spain, Portugal or the south of France would look mighty tempting.."Look before you jump, don't die until you're dead"
Remster 30 #8 May 23, 2002 Its just jelousy.... Last spring was awsome... this year, its been pretty much blahhhhh... We have a really long weekend coming up in a week (for the Golden Jubilee, us poor lil subjects are getting monday AND tuesday off)... I really really hope it gets better by then.... Otherwise we'll have to occupy ourselves with the freakling stupid street parties being organized..... PSL: can you tell I'm not much of a royalist.... Remster 30 #11 May 23, 2002 Going for short trips to Empuria is always risky... with the Tramontana, you can get winded out for 3 or 4 days straight... RemsterMuff

Remster 30 #13 May 23, 2002 Yep... June 3rd and 4th are holidays...But you North Americains still have more Stat holidays then the Brits (as I recal, Cnada and the US have about 13 or 14 days and the UK has 8 or 9)... but then again, we get at least 20 days vacation...Still, France is the place to be: 12 or 13 Stat days, and because of a reduced work week law introduced a couple of years ago, most people still work a full week but have between 7 and 9 weeks holiday a year....RemsterMuff

Emma 0 #17 May 23, 2002 Quotehmmm...let me get this straight... you have Friday eve through Tuesday eve to jump at the DZ?????Which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard when the weather in the UK is its usual, shite self. So I'm going to Florida! HAAAAaaaaaaaa!!! And it doesn't even matter if it's shit there too...cos I'm going in the tunnel with the gods from Airspeed....Mmmm....Heh heh.Why the fook do people live in England, btw? Can anyone remember???? How hard is it to get US residency? I wanna live in Eloy....or California.....Oh and as if on cue, I look out my window right now and it's PISSIN' DOWN! Grrrrr. And btw, that 'Friday evening to jump at the DZ' stuff....Nope, you've missed the small but relevant fact that our particular DZ's neighbours (who chose to move next to an active airfield) complain about the bloody noise after 6. So that's when jumping stops. Usually just as the clouds clear and the winds drop. It's great.
