My First Freefall

This weekend rocked!!!! No more static line!!! I jumped 3 times Sunday and 4 times Monday. The last jump Monday was my first freefall!!!! After getting stuck with 2 extra PRCPs due to a little screw up, I was so freakin psyched to get out there on my own!!!! I couldn't sleep last night. Now I'm at work, and I can't work, I can only sit here and dream about blue skies and skydiving.

When I did my first 10 sec delay I got "brown out" LOL I couldn't see anything outside my hands and altimeter until I dumped. I was potato chipping pretty good but I knew I was still belly to earth because of the wind. As soon as I dumped and looked up for my canopy my vision returned to normal and I watched the 2 guys that followed me out fall away. That was around my 70th time exiting an aircraft but I guess my brain still wasn't ready for free fall.... If you could bottle that stuff and sell it you would be plenty rich. Have fun...it only gets better from here on out.

I haven't seen it in a bottle but they do sell it. It is called Extasy. And yes, Extasy dealers are rich!

Wooohoo! Oh yeah! I so know where you're at! (I did my first freefall 9 days ago) Soak it up, it just gets better!
I think that instructors should give out a warning before the first freefall;
'WARNING! Do not bother attempting to sleep, eat, work, or do any domestic chores for two(2) days following your first freefall. Extensive testing has proven that there's just no point. By pursuing this activity, you will become obsessed, and attempts to think about anything else will fail.'

If you think that was fun, just wait till you do your unstable exit. I was dreading it but it was the most fun jump I did during my progression.
