anyone been to raeford

Recommended Posts

I started skydiving there in 2000. Here's the absolute skinny on what goes on at Raeford. Nice DZ. Totally lacks indoor packing(Bring Matt. Has 2 Otters, Casa, 3 182's. 1 Otter and 2 182's are what normally runs on the weekends. Are you in the military? I have heard from civilian friends that they didn't feel "A Part of it" there because they had never been in the military. Mostly military people there and they are very friendly but ya know.....civilians are just a little differen't. Ask someone to explain "The Raeford Dragon" to you when you get there. You'll thank them after your first landing.
Hook up with Skymonkeyone, and Coconutmonkey from right here at DZ.com and you will have a great time! I promise! They have full time rigging services, Skykat gear shop, Aviators Pub (Has food and beer!) and a bunch of really cool people. The Free Flyer group was kinda small but get Skymonkeyone to introduce you to Steve Lee and you'll be in there if you like to stand on your head. If you are an "ARE-W" type you won't find a more dedicated bunch of Are-W'ers. It is home of the Golden Knights after all. I love that DZ...but maybe I'm biased because I started jumping there? :)"Here I come to save the BOOBIES!"

There's ALWAYS something going on. Southern hospitality is everywhere. Yes, it is thick with military folks, including me. But, most of us are there for the same reason as you are - we love our sport! When will you be there? Let me know and I'll hook up with you and Chuck and make a skydive together!
Respectfully,
SP
