Positive Mental Attitude ................................................

Recommended Posts

Everything you need
Value and appreciate whatever you have and wherever you are, no matter how modest or insignificant it may seem. For what you have is everything you need to get anything you want.
It's not a matter of how much or how little you have. What truly matters is what you do with it. Even if you have almost nothing else, you have the hours and the moments in this day, and the days that follow. Use them wisely, with focus and discipline, with persistence and determination, and you'll be moving toward where you want to be.
Look at today as a starting point, and know that there is a very real and very attainable path which leads all the way to your most treasured dreams. The very best thing you can do today is to take the first step along that path.
Though it may be a small step, it is a positive one, a way to begin making use of what you have that will bring you to what you desire. You already have everything you need to take that first step, and once you take it you'll have what you need to take the next one.
See what you have, see where you can go and with each day you'll make your way steadily there.

Reaching higher
When the challenges become more difficult and the obstacles become more daunting, respond by reaching higher. When the difficulties holding you back become strong, let your desire to get through them grow even stronger.
There is no limit to the goals you can set for yourself or to the dreams you can hold in your heart. So make your dreams bigger than your problems. More than any skill, or resource or other advantage in this world, your desire will determine how far you go. So when the going gets rough, let your desire get even stronger.
If the goal does not seem worth the effort, then make the goal worth more. Keep reaching higher, until where you're going far outweighs what you must go through to get there.
When you have a reason to make it happen, you'll find a way to make it happen. When the goal is meaningful enough, you'll find a way to reach it no matter what.
Set your sights higher and you'll find you're able not only to look beyond the obstacles, but to get beyond them too.

Turning positive
In every life there is plenty of time and energy available for magnificent success and achievement. Yet too often that energy is wasted on unproductive, negative pursuits.
The next time you feel yourself becoming negative, stop and consider what would happen if you applied that negative energy in a positive direction. Imagine what would happen if you simply turned it around, and put it to work for you instead of against you.
A car that is traveling 70 miles per hour toward the north can be easily stopped, turned around and heading 70 miles per hour toward the south. In the same way, you can control your own personal energy to that it moves you toward your goals and dreams rather than away from them.
Instead of bitterly complaining, transform your complaints into useful and productive suggestions. Instead of being envious, transform that envy into positive admiration. Rather than wasting your time with worry, make use of your time with action. Instead of getting destructively angry, become creatively determined.
The energy is already there, ready for you to use. Just imagine what can happen when you make sure it flows in a positive direction.

Which one?
If you live this day to the fullest, there are regrets that you will never have to know. Make the most of each moment, and there are pains you will never need to experience.
Think of how many of your most difficult burdens are largely of your own making. By virtue of the actions you take on this very day, you can avoid so very many similar burdens in the future.
The things you do right now, and the things you fail to do right now, can affect every day for the rest of your life. That can either be a golden opportunity or a wicked curse, depending entirely of what you do with it.
Just imagine all the great and wonderful things you can begin to create right now. Just think of all the things you could do that would soon have you looking back on this day with gratitude and satisfaction.
Five years from now, you can look back on today and be overwhelmed with joy, or overwhelmed with regret. Now is the time when you can decide which one it will be.

What's right about it?
Think for a few moments about all the things that are right with your life. Rather than complaining so much about the problems and difficulties, spend some time appreciating all those things for which you can be thankful.
Whatever you focus you attention upon will grow and become more influential. So focus that attention on the good and valuable and positive aspects of your life.
Rather than defining yourself and coloring your perspective based on what's going wrong in your life, think in terms of what's going right. Instead of keeping your thoughts buried in your limitations, allow those thoughts to soar into your best possibilities.
Instead of worrying about the worst that could happen, put your attention and you efforts into creating the best that is possible. The place where your attention is most often focused is the place you're surely and steadily moving toward. So focus your attention, as often as you can, on the best you can imagine. Keep looking in that direction, keep heading in that direction, and you'll most certainly get there.

I'm not post whoring guys.. Some people.. ALLOT of people need to read these...
Even though
Even if the previous five thousand days have pushed you backwards, you can still move forward today. Even when your resources have been depleted and your options have been exhausted, there is still a way to move ahead.
Never, ever give up, for even in the darkest night there is always, somewhere, a source of light. Even in the most difficult situation there is always, somehow, a way to triumph.
Though troubles come rolling in unexpectedly on a regular basis, life is, unquestionably, very much worth living. Amid the pain, the frustration, the disappointment, there is yet something of unfathomable value and beauty in the experience.
Take hold of the abundant goodness that can never be extinguished. Live every day in awe of the fact that you're alive. Never forget what a priceless, miraculous gift you've been given. The ups and downs of life pale in comparison to the magnitude of the blessing that is life itself.
Remember who you are, what you are, and why you are. Even though the going sometimes gets rough, it is a blessed experience which has no equal.

Determined to make it so
When you decide that something is true for you, you'll do everything in your power to make it so. This can be a powerful force working against you or working in your favor, depending on what you see as being true.
Do you believe that everyone is out to cheat you, abuse you and take advantage of you? Then you'll find yourself being drawn toward situations where that is precisely what will happen. Do you believe that you have the ability to truly make a positive difference in the world, lifting up yourself and others? Then you'll find an abundance of opportunities for doing so.
If you believe your troubles are someone else's fault, then you'll never allow yourself to rise above them. When you see your circumstances as being your own responsibility, then you put yourself in full control.
The more you argue in favor of your limitations, the more stubbornly they'll hold you back. The more you promote and project your own positive possibilities, the more real and valuable they'll become.
Believe the best about yourself and your world, because whatever you truly believe, you'll be determined to make it so.

Choose happiness
The expectation that only certain things can make you happy will continue to keep happiness out of your reach. Putting conditions on happiness serves only to prevent it from happening.
The assumption that conditions must improve before you can be happy is precisely backwards. For when you can truly be happy with who you are and with what you're doing, conditions cannot help but improve.
If you feel that you could never be happy with things the way they are, you're absolutely right. So choose to be happy, and things will no longer be the way they are -- they'll immediately start to get better.
Once you truly choose to be happy, then your thoughts and actions will reflect that choice. You'll be moving in the direction of your most treasured values and desires, rather than holding yourself back from them.
But isn't it naive or unrealistic or simplistic or disrespectful to choose happiness when the world is so filled with difficult and dangerous challenges? Not at all, because by choosing to be genuinely happy with yourself you're also choosing to be the best, the strongest, the most effective person you can be.

Just get started
Instead of worrying and complaining about how difficult it is, just get started. Rather than wasting your time and effort on excuses for not moving forward, just go ahead and get started. There are a thousand perfectly good reasons to delay, to procrastinate, to avoid making the effort. Forget about them all and just get started.
As soon as you begin, you put momentum on your side. And momentum is a powerful force to have working in your favor. As long as you're standing still, time and momentum work against you. Yet the moment you get up and get started, you turn that momentum around and put it to work for you.
The small effort it takes to get started will pay off many times over. Why just sit there when you could be getting wherever you desire to go? Why let time work against you when you could be using every moment to your advantage? Even though conditions may not be perfect, now is the perfect moment to start.
In an instant, whenever you decide, you can be firmly on the path to success and achievement. Just get started, then keep on going, and before long you'll have it done.

In control
Though you have some control over things outside yourself, the most powerful and important control you have is over your own thoughts and actions. Indeed, it is through self-control that your greatest possibilities can be realized.
People will attempt to tell you that you have no choice, that when certain things happen you must react in a certain way. But you most certainly do have a choice. You do not have to be a victim of circumstance, no matter what that circumstance may be. You can choose the way you respond, and you can take control of your circumstances by being in control of yourself.
Imagine all the things you could accomplish if you had a servant who obeyed your every command. The fact is, you do have such a servant and it is you. So what are you commanding yourself to do? How are you controlling the powerful and valuable force that is your life?
When you attempt to control others, they will resist you. Yet when you focus on controlling your own thoughts and actions, the positive possibilities are unlimited. You have within your complete control someone who is capable of many great things -- you. Use that control wisely and it can take you wherever you desire to go.

Looking back, moving forward
If you could live your life backwards, just imagine all the mistakes, difficult situations and negative energy you could avoid. Knowing what you now know would give you an enormous advantage in living through those past experiences.
Though you cannot live your life backwards, and you really wouldn't even want to, there is something even more powerful that you can do. You can choose to let go of all the negative energy created by past mistakes and disappointments.
Knowing what you now know, you see that there's no reason in the world to keep hanging on to those disappointments. You see that every mistake, every disappointment, every unkind word, every embarrassment is in the past. Furthermore, you see that they've led you to where you now are. You see that, however painful they were at the time, those difficulties have helped you to grow in wisdom, strength and spirit.
And now is the ideal time to simply let go of all that negative energy you've been carrying. It doesn't have to burden you or drain you any longer. Let yourself be free, let go of the negativity from your past, and unleash an enormous amount of positive energy to move you forward.

Space available
You are the landlord of your mind, and you get to decide which thoughts you allow live there. There's only so much space available in your awareness, so it pays to fill that space with the most positive, productive, empowering thoughts possible.
If nagging doubts or poisonous resentments are causing you problems, you have the power to evict them from your mind. And once they're gone, it makes space available for thoughts of gratitude, confidence, and kindness.
Those positive thoughts are the ones which will reliably pay the rent, month after month, year after year. And there are plenty of good, positive thoughts from which to choose.
The thoughts that take up long-term residence in your mind will play a major role in determining the quality of your life. So fill your mind with the best, most positive thoughts you can find.
Insist on only the best in your thinking, and that's what you'll get. Even if you can control nothing else in your life, you can indeed exercise powerful and effective control over the thoughts that occupy your mind. And by so doing, you'll make it a great place to be.

Beyond fear
Perhaps the most daunting thing about fear is its unknown component. When you've never actually experienced that which you fear, you can easily imagine it to be much worse than it really is.
Once you experience whatever you fear, the fear quickly starts to lose its grip on you. Once you've been through it and you've come out in good shape, what reason is there to hold on to the fear?
Certainly there are many dangers in the world, and many things to be feared. Yet fears can often be wildly exaggerated, and the fear itself can be much more debilitating than whatever is feared.
Fear can heighten your senses and focus your awareness, and as such it can be extremely helpful in preparing you to face difficult situations. Yet if you let your fears hold you back, then all that preparation is of no use to you.
Listen to your fears, then look beyond them and see yourself going triumphantly through whatever you fear. Your fears help to prepare you, and your courage to make use of them, rather than hide from them, will move you positively forward.

What you can
When the challenge first comes along, it looks to be overwhelming. And yet, you know you must get past it, so you do what you can.
Day after day, you do what you can, when you can, as well as you know how. And something amazing begins to happen. What you can begins to be more than what you could. You learn, you experience, sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail, and most of all you grow.
You grow stronger each time you do what you can. At the beginning it doesn't seem like enough, yet with persistence it becomes more. What once seemed difficult, becomes easy. What once seemed awkward and uncomfortable, becomes natural and even graceful.
Taking on a difficult challenge can bring about a great accomplishment, yet it can bring so very much more. In challenge there is strength to be gained, there are lessons to be learned, there is a kind of nourishment that cannot be delivered in any other way.
If the challenge seems a bit too overwhelming, that's the one you want. Take it on and let it pull you up. Do what you can do, again and again, and what you can do will truly amaze you.

Completely behind
There are two parts to every burden. One is the burden itself, and the other is how much of that burden you internalize and take for your own. You cannot magically transport yourself away from difficult circumstances. Yet you can choose to see, understand and live the fact that even the most difficult burden is not a part of who you are.
The troubles you experience are merely that -- experiences. As difficult as they may be, they do not need to become a part of you. Yes, you must pay attention to them and do something about those difficulties. Yet they are what you are working on and they are not who you are.
You exist beyond every single difficulty, beyond every burden, beyond every obstacle and overwhelming challenge. And though it will likely require great effort, you can rise above every one of them.
Though difficulties may consume your time, ravage your body and deplete your resources, they need never tarnish your soul. You are always free to experience the difficulties while at the same time living beyond them. And by so doing, eventually you will leave them completely behind.

Getting past rejection
Does the fear of rejection hold you back? Are you so concerned about what others might think or say or feel about you that it keeps you from taking positive action?
Rejection hurts only when you allow it to hurt, and there's no reason whatsoever for you to allow it to hurt. If someone says no to you, or if someone says something negative about you, that does not change anything about who you are.
The words, actions and opinions of others have no real bearing on your worth as a person. Certainly it is helpful and desirable to make a good impression whenever you can, yet it's not the end of the world when you experience rejection.
When you set out to make a true and substantial positive difference, there will be those who disagree with you, those who ignore you, and those who flat out reject what you're doing. Look beyond them and keep your focus on what you've decided to accomplish.
It's great to have positive feedback, but it simply does not always happen. That's okay, though, because you know where you're headed and you know that your true worth does not depend on the judgment of others. Go confidently forward, do what you know must be done, and let others think what they will.

No I am not.. Maybe you should start reading? lol
Expect the best
To achieve improved results from yourself and others, first improve your expectations. Whatever you truly expect to do, you'll find a way to do. Whatever you genuinely and positively expect of others will firmly encourage them to make it so. Respect people enough to expect the best of them, with confidence and sincerity, and they'll come through with an impressive performance.
Expectations are communicated to yourself and others in your words, your actions, your thoughts, your posture, and your attitude. When these things are mostly positive and empowering, the positive expectations they convey will bring impressive results.
Base your expectations not on what has happened in the past, but rather on what you desire for the future. Expectations exert a powerful influence on you and on those around you, so use that influence wisely.
Expect to improve your situation, and you will. Expect to have a productive day, and you will. You'll likely get whatever you truly expect. So choose, with your words, your thoughts, and your actions, to expect the very best.

Wow, that Marston dude has had a profound effect on you.
Nice wirdz, however, have you seen or heard of Desiderata, which works for me quite often....
D E S I D E R A T A
"Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
And remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly & clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull & ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud & aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain & bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing future of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity & disenchantment
it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue & loneliness.
Beyond wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees & the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labours & aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery & broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy. "
But trust me on the sunscrean..;)

that's cool! i'd never heard it, but after i read that i did a quick google search to find the origin, and came across this:
The Pilot's Desiderata
Discover your far horizons; but embrace the sky softly, quietly, so that others of your kind may follow.
Know your limitations from moment to moment and be humble when the elements are against you.
Accept advice from those before you, seeking out their truths.
Use your temper as a catalyst to keep you advancing; guarding it with vigilance though, lest you be obliged to bite your tongue.
Leave your mistakes behind you, noting their lessons as part of your tuition for learning.
If you quit - and will want to - beginning again will be lonely.
You cannot know the colour of truth unless you wear its cloth; therefore let honesty itch your mind, gleaming conspicuous in the eyes.
If you become hostage to the fear of the unknown, challenge it with tenacity; keeping in mind, however, that only a fool is fearless.
Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream.
Be the opportunist; the forever hesitant are losers.
In each of us there is a conflict - daydreaming versus reality. May dreaming prod your curiosity, but reality wield the sword.
Expect the unexpected. It will develop an awareness for Murphy's Law; if something can go wrong - - it will.
Your time on this earth is a perpetual flight plan cancelled with your passing; you are wise then, to spend each day as though it were your last among those of the living.
You are entitled to complain; use maturity if you do.
With your wings you will receive wisdom, courage and joy, but moreover you will have joined the college of a thousand friendships; never forget them.
Fly at the wind from every quarter; climb high, hesitate and tumble. Yet above all, know when it is time to fold your fragile wings. Remember you are not God-like, but a mere mortal, vulnerable - a pilot, and that is world enough.
