Recommended Posts

But I got my passport back today and have been given permanent residency (Indefinite Leave to Remain) in the UK! :):)And a year from now I get a British passport which means I can live and work anywhere in Europe! Anybody know of any decent DZs in Spain??? ;)
Soon I'll have free access to the best dentists in the world!!! ;)

No rednecks

No, but lots of skinhead yobs.

Appropriate drinking regulations

You enjoy being treated like a schoolchild and forced to leave a pub at 11PM?(incidentally the Met reckons thats one of the reasons there is so much street violence - all the drunken yobbos leaving pubs at same time)

Cars with manual transmission

Spend 45 minutes every morning driving 7 miles through London traffic and you'll wish you had an automatic transmission...

Water you can drink from the tap

Haven't been home for a while have you??? ;)

3000 miles form America

World's busiest year-round DZs with affordable jump tickets and decent altitude - don't see too many yanks bitching about that...
I've been to the states 4 times now and really enjoyed myself, the one thing I do prefer about the British is that they are a bit better travelled and informed. I read in Time that 85% of Americans don't even own passports. Pretty strange that the richest nation in the world isn't into travelling much. Of course American skydivers would probably be an exception to that rule.

Ya got me there Will.
"forced to leave a pub at 11PM"
Not in Scotland :)I once pulled up to a pub over on the west coast, I asked the bartender "When do you close?" He replied.....October.:)"driving 7 miles through London traffic "
There's not enough money in London to make me work there again, you would probably be faster on a moutain bike....
besides you ain't seen Houston traffic amigo....
"Water you can drink from the tap"
Scottish water, not the second, third, or fourth hand water in England.
"World's busiest year-round DZs with affordable jump tickets and decent altitude "
Okay I give up, ya got me there....and check out the price of jump tickets compared to the US....You can always hop on a plane to Gerona, get a taxi up to Empuria, and jump and party like there's no tomorrow.....:D
So are ya gonna make it up to Scotland while your there man?
I'd be pleased to show you around....It really is a thousand light years from life in London....

I've been here on and off since November, and loved it.....

I'd really enjoy that. Couple of years ago I drove up from Bridlington (did 3 months contract there at Sara Lee's) to Linlithgow where my grandfather came from. When the locals in the pub heard why I was there, boy oh boy... :)Will

Well, stay in touch dude, I'll be in back in Scotland for good in about a week....Linlithgow isn't really representative of my fair homeland.
Bring your rig, we'll do a tour of the DZs....
