Pammi 0 #1 June 9, 2002 Yeah! What a great day at Raeford yesterday! They DID get my reserve in (Eddie Rocks!!!) and got Merrick all put together and we both got a couple of jumps in! It was fantastic getting back up, and when I say up, I mean UP...not 8-10,000 ft...the whole kaboodle...13,500 on the second load :) Yeehaw! Met Skymonkey, Coconut Monkey and Slotperfect. Skymonkey introduced us to many great people, and everyone was incredibly friendly. Watched some great videos of dives the 'elite' and not-so-elite did during competitions, met the wonderful people at Skycat...Sorry I'm rambling. We have just had a great time and I have to say, the people up here are so friendly and welcoming. A couple of jumps, much beer. *psssttt* Ask Merrick about almost having to get a SECOND reserve pack after only one jump on his new rig. He's in so much trouble with me!! :)'Nuthin

skycat 0 #4 June 9, 2002 Quote*psssttt* Ask Merrick about almost having to get a SECOND reserve pack after only one jump on his new rig. He's in so much trouble with me!! :)Hey it sounds like he talked to Derek about how to make your first jump into a new DZ. Although Derek does have the advantage of being a rigger and able to repack himself to get back on the plane 5 loads later. Although somehow I don't think you can tease him about it the same way as Derek was, "Hey boy, scared to land that 60 at 5k MSL?"
slotperfect 7 #5 June 9, 2002 It WAS an awesome weekend . . . for me, too. It was great to meet you two, and I look forward to skydiving with you in the future and sharing one of those beerses y'all were talking about. I'm glad you got to come down and get a taste of our hospitality. I think you're gonna like it here :)Respectfully,SP
slotperfect 7 #6 June 9, 2002 BTW - I did an AFF Level III with Chuck today with a 110 pound young lady from Camp LeJeune. By far the smallest my big ass has ever instructed in freefall. I wore my packing mat sized jumpsuit and her fall rate was surprisingly great. It went great . . . thanks, Chuck for being there ;)Respectfully,SP
SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 June 10, 2002 John: nothing to it but to do it, like Pruitt used to do it. Pammi: Great meeting yall finally in person. Yall should definitely plan on staying down here next time. Later in the evening, FastMartin (something or other) introduced himself. He is a Kentucky boy that is friends with Gene Paul and Miss Billie. I was supposed to take him and his old lady on tandems today, but he was hungover like a sonofabitch today and didn't make it. His much repeated line during the Tyson fight: "damn, I am sitting next to SkymonkeyONE!" He was a mess; we all were. Nice meeting you all.Everyone else: yall missed a good time this weekend at Raeford. We are flying the CASA as well as the Otter next weekend, so come on out if you can make it. airann 1 #8 June 10, 2002 And it is amazing how you guys can drink.... Monkey and his friends are like Ripleys Believe it or Not....One Dude from the Islands is here at the moment and he drank one beer from a hole in the side of the can in less than one second. I was still blabbing on about something and then ... the beer was gone.....I stopped and said - Hold it - I wasnt ready. AirAnn's Video Vault
