OK, let me explain this again for those like you who have ADD.
The edited version: Sold the MDX in April. AFF was scheduled for May 2nd. Injured in wind tunnel and my uncle passed away. Everything postponed for now until I completely heal, hence only the 2 jumps and the fact that I am here so much talking to you numbnuts.

Maybe you should rephrase the question to, "what trade-offs have you made in order to skydive."
1. i still have a cracked windshield on my 5 year old car.
2. i have to wear suits to work and haven't bought one in 2.5 years.
3. i don't go out to lunch unless it is paid for by someone trying to sell me something.
4. i iron my own shirts and forego dry cleaning.
5. i still have a Pentium 3/450 and my laptop is a P1/133.
6. dsl? has a different meaning to me. i use dial-up aol except when i'm at work.
7. all my casual clothes say "Skydive Elsinore" on them
8. i only pay the minimum due on my credit cards
9. and i'm homeless

The nutty thing is, over the winter while I was waiting to jump again, (having done 5 last fall) I told myself 'I won't ever get that into it so much that it takes over my life. It'll be fun, but I won't get obsessed.'
HA! First thing in the morning, I think about jumping. All day, I think about jumping. Last thing at night, I think about jumping. I leaned a mirror against the wall, at floor level, to watch myself practice my arch. I have a PIM in each bathroom for 'reading material'.
I think I'm obsessed. And selling my house doesn't seem like a big deal, if it gets me in the air.
(We are planning on buying again, just smaller/cheaper Like Meunkel said, minimizing payments...)

As soon as I get back to England on Monday, I'm selling my car and computer. I haven't made any payment on my bills sence I made my first jump 2 months ago.

Haven't sold anything near as interesting as cars or houses for jump $$. Instead, I invested in a hobby as a child that looted me enough for my first rig when I sold out ($2500). Anybody heard of the little plastic horses called Breyers? Well, they increase in value and the hobbiests really go nuts over the hard to find ones! Had one that I bought for only $7.95 that I sold to a collector for $750. Another one for $12.00 that was sold for $1,000!
On the negative side, I've never had credit card debt before I started to get my AFFI rating. Now the bills just -won't- go away!
Quit the full-time job as well and went per diem. Why? To Skydive!LOL...and we're happier than most peeps out in the whuffo word, too... ltdiver
