bananna 0 #1 June 17, 2002 Here is the situation...I could use some fellow jumpers advice.Let's say that last year at the WFFC you sat down with a jumpsuit designer and designed a jumpsuit for yourself. At the time you told the designer that you weren't ready to make the purchase and you would contact them when you had the cash. Two months later, your jumpsuit comes in the mail. You contact the designer and offer to send it back because you don't have the money to pay for it & you never asked them to make the suit. The designer says don't worry about it, you can pay later. A few other times you have contacted the designer and asked for the total amount due. The designer offers no reply at all. The question....What do you do? Do you just send some money? Do you wait for the designer to respond? Sorry for keeping everything so vauge, but I don't want your responses to be biased because of a possible past relationship with the designer. Thanks!Anna
skybytch 273 #2 June 17, 2002 Send a check for what the regular price of the suit is. And a thank you card. And a picture of you jumping the suit. And buy that person a jump or two at this year's WFFC! pull & flare, lisa"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda sez
PhreeZone 20 #3 June 17, 2002 Go with Lisa's plan.... and you might want to get the designer a lunch or something at WFFC this year too if they are too busy to jump with you.Drop the tube...DROP the tube...
Remster 30 #4 June 17, 2002 Before sending a cheque, you may wanna find out if that designer is still in business.... it might explain why you havent gotten any answers lately..... RemsterMuff

drenaline 0 #6 June 17, 2002 Gotta go to a WFFC! hey can you PM me the name of the manufacturer? I would sure like to do business with him, maybe by a freefly pants or suit from him. (gonna use it for my fun relaxing non RW jumps)"Life is full of danger, so why be afraid?"drenaline
Icarus021 0 #7 June 17, 2002 In all honesty, if you keep trying for a reply and do not receive one. I would wait until this years WFFC to pay them in person and have a personal face to face thanx. Just save the money for that time. Until then you know what to do.nick 3-2-1-cya'
spinmaster 0 #8 June 18, 2002 This could be his way of saying he thinks you're cute. Forcing money onto him now might actually be a little insulting....on the other hand, not paying him might be taken as an invitation to start stalking you.I know, not much help here.Dan
thrillseek 0 #9 June 18, 2002 it all depends on who the designer is....i know one of them and he is hard to contact. Can you give a little hint?
MiataDRM 0 #10 June 18, 2002 Ditto...I'd like to order a suit through them as well...I think that is just cool. This is one of those rare stories that you don't hear often these days...but seem to have occured all the time during our parents/grandparents younger years. So....how about a pic of the suit?**I'm a Pschydiver!Majdi

bananna 0 #13 June 18, 2002 Val, I never got a payment method.I was never told anything more.Where are you jumping this weekend?I am going to Chicagoland on Saturday.-Anna
bananna 0 #14 June 18, 2002 Alright everyone, I can tell it is driving you nuts not to know the manufacturer. I will just tell you, but still try to keep opinions unbiased.I got the suit from DaKine Rags. It is beautiful, but I wouldn't have ordered it for a long time because right after the WFFC I ran into lots of medical bills and really couldn't use the suit. So, knowing all of that...any new opinions.I will probably try to see him at the WFFC & give him money, but I dont' know how much I owe. I know that their suits vary in price lots because they are designed for a specific person.
Vallerina 2 #15 June 18, 2002 Hey, Anna! Okay...guess I was wrong...I thought you were going to try to send him $50 here and there for it. I will not be in Hinckley this weekend, since the IL Valley Parachute Club is having their Mullins King Air boogieYou can't stop me; you can only hope to contain me!
