I'm a simple person. No background image since it's always covered anyway. Simple blues because it's easy on the eyes.
Technical crap: I'm running XFree86 4.1.something on a linux kernel that is getting a little bit dated (2.4.10pre-9). The window manager is Fluxbox, which is based on the now-defunct Blackbox window manager. It fits with the whole simple philosophy quite nicely. I usually run at 1024x768 on single monitor, but my graphics card will handle dualhead just fine. If anybody has a couple of matching LCDs that they want to send my way...

Press PrtScrn
Then go into paint under Accessories
press Ctrl-V to paste the screenshot
Save it as a .JPG file
Upload it.... just check "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file. " before clicking Continue and it will then prompt you for the file you just created.
Piece of cake..

Easy dude, here is how I do it:
downsize all windows or close them, when you get a look at your desktop press the "print scrn" (usually is in the upper right of the keyboard) key in your keyboard (its like doing a cut/copy of the entire screen), now go to the paintbrush (or any equivalent program) and paste it then save it as an .jpg (takes less memory).
It can also be used to steal images that you can't save from other places. ;)

Here is my main computer in my room.
Yes, I love skydiving... but my dog looks better on my desktop.
(here's a shot of her taking a blast of water in the face... she loves to play in the water/garden hose/sprinklers/lake/ocean...etc...)

Like JT, my wallpaper rotates. I have some skydiving scenes, plus a lot of nature stuff like sunsets, forests, volcanoes, and a lot of travel pics of different places. Does anyone have a good source for more high-rez (at least 1024x768 or 1152x864) skydiving photos?
The image is 75% of original size. WinXP, obviously. The right-most column of icons is the fun and multimedia stuff. Yes, I am an investing geek. I consider Yahoo Financevision and Nasdaq MarketBrowser fun. :$
