quade 4 #1 June 18, 2002 QuoteWorld Champions Arizona Airspeed has had 2 of their brand new Stiletto's stolen. The new canopies signified by their distinctive Factory Team colors and the Performance Designs Logo on the bottom skin.Any help on these 2 canopies would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Performance Designs and or Arizona Airspeed should you have any details that may lend to recovering them.I asked PD if they had a photo of the stolen canopies and Ed Anderson sent me a photo that wasn't quite it, but sort of close. I did a little PhotoShop work on it and he says this is pretty close.See attached.quadehttp://futurecam.com

gravitysurf808 0 #4 June 19, 2002 Agreed. Pretty messed up stealing anyone's gear. <>It was even more shocking to hear about Virk Verner's sabotaged gear at Archway a few years back. To make it even worse somebody else (a fun jumper) ended up jumping it!! Then if it couldn't get worse there were a couple copy cats one of which resulted in a fatality if I recall . The FBI were involved in all cases for attempted murder.Makes all of us look real good to the public...."...and then they took away my Swingline stapler" ~ Office Space

Jasmin 0 #6 June 19, 2002 I remember hearing the most f***ed up story from a guy from Germany (IPC Delegate, Exy) back in '99.A female jumper over there used to get a lift out to the DZ with this particular asswipe. He was packing her rig for her (he was pretty sweet on her it seemed) and a fellow jumper (male) asked her if this guy was her bf, to which she replied that he was just her friend. After 3 months, they finally found the rest of her reserve ripcord which allowed them to show it had been cut, and enabled them to convince the prosecuter's office that it was murder, not an accident. This despicable excuse for a human being had packed her a deliberate mal, cut her reserve ripcord and re-routed her cypress around the loop.Words cannot describe the disgust I have for this individual.Unfortunately, it takes all sorts to fill the world, he apparently is not the only one of this kind.Over the years there have been more than a few incidents at DZ's here in Australia, of fuel tanks of planes being contaminated with water or sugar. There are some very very evil people out there, thank God they're the minority!

BikerBabe 0 #8 June 19, 2002 Oh, this makes me so mad. Any idea whose rigs they were out of? I can't believe it was another skydiver...I mean, it's Arizona Airspeed, for goodness sakes! Everyone in the sport practically knows who they are. Anyway, the pic is close...the yellow is a little more neon...they're really nice-looking canopies.I hate idiots. I had all the cash stolen out of my wallet this weekend (out of my car). They left everything else (husband's palm pilot, credit cards, car radio...) just took the cash. Obviously these people have never had anything of value stolen from them.
bbarnhouse 0 #9 June 19, 2002 Well it doesn't matter that it was Airspeed......just makes it more noticable. Their rig, your rig, my rig..........it's all the same.don't mess with our stuff........we'll hunt you down like the dogs that you are.Oh and have a nice day! It's better to lose you pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride. Emma 0 #10 June 19, 2002 Anyone know where they were stolen from? I think I missed any previous posts about it....I can't believe anyone would steal from Airspeed? I mean, if it's another skydiver, what a total c*nt! Those guys put so much back into the sport, how could anyone be such a twat? And if it's a whuffo...why would you want a canopy? For curtains?A friend of mine left his rig in the car in Empuriabrava, and when he came back, some tosser had cut all the lines on the main..I mean, why? Some people are just brain dead.
