Hows about this....
FYI: The big boy airliners also use turbines for a/c. They are called "PACKS." But they do it totally differently. In the most basic sense, they use 50PSIG/400degreeF bleed air off the turbines to power an aircycle machine, which in design is pretty much VERY similar to a turbo charger from a car (and also what the NZ dude used to build his turbine -which on another side note looks like he did a damn nice thorough job - i have considered building one too). The bleed air turns an Aircycle machine, The bleed air turning the turbine expeirences a pressure drop accross the turbine, and the turbine also extracts a GREAT deal of heat from the air. This creates about a 35degreeF output. (which is so cold it has to be warmed back up by mixing in some of that 400degreeF bleedair). But thats the simple explanation. LOL
So yes I am a geek, bite me.
I just finished a class on this shit. Hehehe, had to say something. Derek

Interesting notion guys, but I think he might be experiencing Joules Thompson cooling on the gas tank, and that in turn is what is cooling the beer....... J-T cooling is what occurs when a gas experiences rapid pressure reduction such as a gas tank emptying quickly........
