thrillseek 0 #6 June 19, 2002 This guy should be considered a national hero!!Do they give out nobel prizes for this sort of thing??Now, if he could just get something built to make beer out of water...or wine out of water for that matter...
 Derekbox 0 #7 June 19, 2002 Hows about this....FYI: The big boy airliners also use turbines for a/c. They are called "PACKS." But they do it totally differently. In the most basic sense, they use 50PSIG/400degreeF bleed air off the turbines to power an aircycle machine, which in design is pretty much VERY similar to a turbo charger from a car (and also what the NZ dude used to build his turbine -which on another side note looks like he did a damn nice thorough job - i have considered building one too). The bleed air turns an Aircycle machine, The bleed air turning the turbine expeirences a pressure drop accross the turbine, and the turbine also extracts a GREAT deal of heat from the air. This creates about a 35degreeF output. (which is so cold it has to be warmed back up by mixing in some of that 400degreeF bleedair). But thats the simple explanation. LOLSo yes I am a geek, bite me. I just finished a class on this shit. Hehehe, had to say something.
