the World Cup is rigged!!

Recommended Posts

I like soccer and played when I was a kid but it does not do it for me anymore. I watched both games last night (England v. Brazil & U.S v. Germany) Besides being really good soccer players these guys are also theatrics majors. The floppin and fallin and cryin every time someone gets within arms reach of you? Jesus just get up shut up and play. I am a bit disapointed and think the whole things rigged too>:(.......

That would be funny to do on an RW jump. Jump out and when people start docking on you start screamin' and hittin' and punchin' and swimmin' and cursen'. Then on the ground act like nothin' happened.:)Blue Dreams,

I actually miss the days when I lived on my own and didn't own a tv. Somebody offered me one for free, but I declined. TV is just evil. Maybe more evil than some of the postwhores on DZ.com, and that is pretty damned evil. :D

NFL Sucks!
Give me College Football and Texas High School football any day of the week. Atleast those guys are mostly playing for something besides trying to get a paycheck. In highschool and most of the players in college, they play with heart and team dedication. The NFL USED to have that, back in the day, though.
Soccer is a cool game, but it is definately hard to get into if you weren't raised playing it, around it, etc. I'd much rather watch soccer then baseball, though. The only fun I have with baseball is getting drunk, but I can do that watching anything.
The US team held their own, Germany didn't win this uncontestedly, so to say that the US team were ameatures is asinine. A handful of the players even used to play pro in Germany, no less. The next World Cup will definately be different, look to see the US in the finals.

Well Mr. if you don't think NASCAR is a sport. I want to see you climb into a 800hp machine with temps reaching 120f inside the cabin along with engine temps blowing against you and 2 to 3g's of force slamming you into your seat for 3 hours and 500 miles dodging wrecks and idiots {Gordon} along the way... Hey ya know this kinda sounds like my compute through Houston traffic everyday.

I agree that NASCAR is a sport. It isn't a very good sport, though. I love auto racing, but NASCAR is definitely the pro-wrestling of auto racing. One of the best aspects of racing is that it improves the breed. World Superbike leads directly to better sportsbikes. World Rally leads directly to better street cars. Motocross leads directly to better dirtbikes. Even Formula One, with no basis on real cars, develops technologies that ultimately improve road cars.
"Stock" cars are ancient technology that never improves. It's just a bunch of rednecks driving in a circle. At least when they go to a road course, it's slightly interesting. But if you put a NASCAR driver in a real racecar on a real racecourse versus actual racers, he'd be slaughtered. It's not racing, it's a soap opera. Ugh.

f1 race, whoever makes it to the first corner first, wins, and it's generally a shuemacher in a red ferrari, and it's generally by at least 30 seconds.

This is, sadly, quite true. The reason for this is that it's really hard to pass in Forumla One, so lead changes usually occur due to pit strategy. The mistake in the current formula is that aerodynamic grip is favored over mechanical grip. Basically, the wings are too big and the tyres are too small. Because of the turbulent air behind the cars, it is impossible for a chasing driver to get too close, which makes passing extremely difficult. This desperately needs to be addressed.
The best racing these days can be found in motorcycles.
