freeatlast 0 #3 June 20, 2002 Yes, I know lots of people are going, but I was wondering if there was anyone who was going about the right time to give me a lift ... It would make life easier for me and i could perhaps share costs with anyone heading that way from Chicago ...

PhillyKev 0 #5 June 21, 2002 You can fly right into Champaign, which is very close. Not sure about directly from the UK, but I'm flying Northwestern from Philly to Detroit and then taking a prop to Champaign. You might want to look at doing that. Figure I can rent a car there for the short trip or even take a cab.cielos azules y cerveza fría-Kevin

PhillyKev 0 #9 June 21, 2002 QuoteFree Beer ???? !!!!You guys know how to organize a BOOGIE ;-)I knew that I should have taken up jumping earlier ..... You've never had American beer, have you? Particularly the mass produced kind. Hopefully they'll be selling other beer in addition to the free miller lite. That or maybe I can find a skunk in the campground and gather its urine. That's slightly more pallatable.cielos azules y cerveza fría-Kevin
freeatlast 0 #10 June 21, 2002 Yes but over here ... (Especially in London !!!) ... They charge over $4.50 per bottle for Miller Light in a bar ...So Free beer seems good but I'll take your word on the Urine !!!Can't wait to be at the FFC ;-)
jceman 1 #11 June 21, 2002 QuoteHopefully they'll be selling other beer in addition to the free miller lite.Fear not, they will. The convenience store will carry a nice selectionof beers and there will be several bars near the food and entertainment tents with usually a good selection. If you want something unusual or a favorite, it's a good idea to just keep a cooler on ice. Ice is cheap and plentiful.
Snowwhite 0 #12 June 21, 2002 Thought you might like to know that we have arranged a reduced rate with Amtrak to Rantoul, and Amtrak to Champaign, from anywhere. (that Amtrak still runs) If you click on the front page of the freefall.com, you will find info. If you take the 'City of New Orleans' from Chicago to Champaign, it runs late. We are currently working to set up shutttles from the Champaign and Rantoul Amtrak stations to the convention site. More info on that should follow. Contact me if you want more info. beth@freefall.com
