skip 0 #1 June 22, 2002 Well being a young chickling jumper I am still experiencing new and amazing stuff on each and every jump. Today there were many, however the fly by I received was truly amazing and quite a great welcome in to the sport of skydiving. It was my 24th jump, the second on my own gear, I pulled lower then I have ever pulled before (4), opened great, looked around, and realized that I had fellow jumpers all around me and that more was expected of me in order to keep from killing two of us. I’m at about 2.5 everything looks good and then I spot Scot and he is directly below me, and wait no more to my right and wait no he is right next to me, RIGHT FUCKING NEXT TO ME, and we are flying together. Oh shit I was scared and he knew it, I realized that this guy knows what he is doing and I just kind of kept a heading and let it all happen. I spouted out a WOO HOO to him and he gave me the same back and then took off not to be seen again until we were on the ground. Well to me that was just a great thing, I’ve been in free fall with jumpers before, I’ve watched jumpers dump below me, and in fact watched a cut away happen a thousand or so feet below me, but I have never flow my canopy side by side with another jumper, and man,,,,, I just fucking loved it. Later (on the ground) I approached him and said “thanks man, that was great”, he nodded and said “yeah I figured that was the closest you’ve been to another jumper under canopy; it only gets better from here”. Well, I still from time to time question “what the hell am I doing jumping out of planes”, and it only takes little incidents like the above mentioned to realize that this is just an amazing experience that I don’t want to miss out on. I am completely wowed at something I have done, I like skydiving, that’s it. ,:skip
