Near miss

Did the FSDO say they were going to look into it further? Not to get people in trouble but there might be some serious education to do here. You might not be able to identify which specific aircraft it was but you might figure which company it was and send a nice educational letter to them.

Just some thoughts.

Careful; he might get a 60 gallon drum for you. He might remind you, for example, that it is your responsibility to clear the area before you jump, and not to put other aircraft at risk. He might also remind you that, in terms of priorities, his is putting out fires and saving lives; yours is having fun. He might be tempted to pull out that can for putting his life and the lives of his crew at risk so you could have that fun.

Regardless of whose fault it was, this is the scariest video I ever saw....unbelievable that no-one was hurt!

Does anyone know the approx. distance between the wing and the stabilizer on a bomber like that, and the approx. cruising speed (as Craig mentioned it appears to be flying slower than belly terminal). I would be interested in trying to calculate the clearances (if any)...
