do you belive in ghosts?

Recommended Posts

:$ Of course I believe in ghosts. Who else do you think hides my keys and shrinks the waist band of my jeans in the closet. The angel is the guy who knocks the demon/ghost out and slips my keys out from under the couch so I can find them. DUH!

do you believe in ghosts?

Yup. My parents and my son all saw one (at different times) and felt a "cold spot" in one hallway in a house my parents used to live in. She was a nice ghost, never moved anything or caused any harm, but she was definitely there. All three of them described the same apparition - a woman with long hair wearing a long, flowing white dress.

I've never actually seen one, but I have experienced some wierd stuff. The wierdest was after a friend of mine died in a skydiving accident a few years ago. He died at a dz about 250 miles from where he lived, and about 400 miles from the dz he had learned to jump at. After the funeral in the town near the dz he learned at, a bunch of his friends went up and did a memorial dive for him. They built a "K" in freefall (his first initial), then went to a round. After they had the round, two of the jumpers felt "something" break their grip and "fly through" - the round opened up into a "C" shape (his last initial), and everyone on the dive insisted that they had felt something on that skydive.

A couple days later, his roommates held a memorial party for him at the house they all lived in. There were about 30 of us there; some of us were sitting in the living room when the front door opened. No living person opened it, no living person was anywhere near it, and the door had never opened on it's own before. This happened about 5 times during the party. After the second time several of us started saying "Kevin! You could at least close the door behind you" when it happened again.

Wierd? Yeah. But oddly comforting to think that he was hanging around as we were mourning the loss of him.

what about the tooth fairy, santa clause and zombies.
(I am not trying to be an asshole, sometimes it just comes naturally!)this topic was brought up a while ago you may remember what my opinion is.

most ppl would say that is silly to believe in those! but isnt it just a silly to believe in the first three?

lemme clarify then b4 I get flamed...I should have asked if you believe in them. and followed up with WHY?
Lisa explained why. but for those of you reading I am curious as to WHY you believe/dont believe in something. everyone has different reasons...
everyone believes in certaion things...I believe I may have started a war here. please no flaming its cool to have a different opinion jsut try to keep the name calling down to a minimum?

I believe in the cat shit fairy!! :D Because every time I go to the DZ, drink lots of beer, and then sleep on the couch, I wake up and it tastes like a cat shit in my mouth. The only cat on the DZ is my riggers and she keeps it locked up upstairs. So, it must be the cat shit fairy right? ;)

I always thought that was the dinosaur shit fairy ???

I'm somewhat hesitant to admit this, but yes...I believe in ghosts. Without getting into details (too long a story) when I was 17, me and several of my friends experienced something we couldn't explain, and a bunch of us pursued ghosts until our mid-20s or so. I've seen a lot of weird shit that can't be explained away, or at least explained to my satisfaction. I guess I'm saying that i don't WANT to believe in them, but i have to....

I think most people will attribute an experience they can't explain to something they are familiar with. An experience that one person might credit to ghosts could be credited to aliens by a ufo buff... a relilgious person might use the term "miracle" when a person who is very ill has a recovery that can't be e xplained by the medical community.

My wife and I shared an "unexplained experience" in the house where my grandmother used to live. My dad figured it was his Mom's ghost. We had been awoken by an excruciatingly bright light shinging out of our bedroom closet... aliens? an angel?? a ghost??? Who know?!? Maybe it was ball lightning ... I was overwhelmed by the experience, and began crying like a little baby. Even to this day (this happened 15 years ago), my wife and I have no idea just what happened that night... but it happened to both of us, so we know it wasn't a dream!

Do I believe in ghosts, spirits, etc.?

Guess I do. What follows is a post I made to wreck daht last spring. It was about a month after the RS Boogie at Sebastian and 2 weeks after Jan Davis had died at Lodi:

Quote

All,

I just felt I had to share this --

Today, eight weeks after a total hysterectomy, my wife Lynn returned to the skies over Deland. It was also my first jump since Rec.Skydiving Boogie III.

We had to wait until after noon because of the cloud cover, but
manifested on RocketVan load 2. We were the only freefliers on the load so got on first. One 8-way w/video got out at 10,000 and the rest of us went for full altitude.

After donning helmets and goggles, Lynn and I took a flower grip and said "For Jan", swallowed and prepared to go. We had to circle a bit for clear air, but on the 2nd go, the other nine left (another 8-way w/vid). 8 seconds later, we stepped off.

Lynn immediately went into a sit facing away from the plane, I did a front flip and came to a stable BTE position about 10 feet above her, 6 feet away. She did a 180 turn to face me and I flew down to her. I gently put my hands on the top of Lynn's feet and then took solid grips there at about 11,500. Slowly I moved up to a position slightly above her feet and held it there with absolutely no tension for what seemed like forever. I thought about moving to another position, but thought,
"No, this is just too cool..." (turns out Lynn had the same feeling). We flew like that until a little over 6,500 when I broke off so we could track away from the cloud below us.

We maintained proper cloud clearance (really!), and deployment, pattern and landings were routine. We met on the ground and shared a kiss, and I welcomed my wife back to the skies.

After we dropped our rigs in the packing hanger and were tidying up by the car, we were still talking about how wonderful the dive had gone. I took a drink of water and as I said that I just wished Jan had been there to video it, I was struck by the enormous feeling of something (power/love/warmth/damned if I know) and as tears came to my eyes, Lynn said "I think she was!"

We agreed that in may have only been one jump, but it was a perfect day, so we gathered our gear and came home.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

I can see the reason for being skeptic.
I feel like a lunatic when I say aloud the reason I have to believe in most of these things...as far as zombies go...I believe! i just dont define them as the sci-fi definition does. haha get this. you gotta push the little imagination button on the left of your brain...(if you fell really good and are getting dizzy you pushed the wrong button, but you might wanna remember where you found it)

zombie= walking dead correct?
I've explained most whuffos as ppl who do nothing but go to work and wait to die. they have no real purpose in life but to cry about menial things like the words "under god" (cross reference threads)
they can not think for themselves! thats an example of a modern day zombie(com'on I told you ,.you hadda play along on this! humor me as I am humoring you!)
zombie= walking dead right?
ever see a REAL drug addict? not someone who uses them for occasional recreational use. I mean someone who is addicted to it.

oops, didnt want to make this too long gotta go

ok couldnt resist finishing the though.
this is an excerpt from a song I wrote a few years ago..this'll explain "zombie to you"

"forever sleeping through our lives
walking zombies unconscious minds
rotting soul inside my head
technology means God is dead!"

twisted song but the rest of it was about the new age losing sight of their priorities... I wasnt too far off.

Nope, I don't believe in ghosts.

I see them as the products of

A) Overactive imaginations
B) People drinking way too much caffeine
C) A wish for explanation
D) Crackpot shysters
E) Attention seekers
F) All of the above

Just another worthless $.02.

Alright...I am at work, doing my job and all of a sudden, one of my files literally flew out of my stand up folder rack! I mean, it just came flying out and landed on my desk.

Now I believe in ghosts!!! The Twilight Zone theme is now playing in my head. Of course, I have already had 3 cups of coffee today.

Oh God, please let it be Casper.:S
