Electric Star...

Recommended Posts

That always seemed to me to be a few steps above russian roulette in terms of risk vs reward. I once watched ten people do that for an hour at Quincy. We already had someone drown in the 3' deep pool, hopefully a serious arrythmia won't be the next fatality at the WFFC.

Oh yeah. The Electric Star seems to come out at the worst possible time (after everyone has had _way_ too much alcohol). It usually starts off with 5 or 6 people and ends up with 3 and occasionally 2.

It's a fun novelty in my opinion, but probably isn't all that safe.

A little 110 never really hurt anyone too bad...shit, who hasn't accidently shocked themselves with 110 before? A lot of us have had 220...maybe that's my problem...

yeah the best is when you THINK you are doing a 3 person or 4 person e star and some idiot runs at you forcing you into a 2 way then you fall over, they grab your feet... you get the idea. besides poking people in the rear end (which strangely makes them jump...), we like touching someone's forehead... amkes you see a big white light, refer to it as the "touch of god." try it, you'll like it! =c)

Eclectic Star... (no spelling typo there).

At most of the dz's on fair to larger sized airports, you'll find a 3-phased welder. This means... 3 phase power of either 220 or 330 volt supply. We're talkin' much more fun and capacity.

Now here's the fun part...(wait disclaimer... don't try this at home, etc.). As each person enters the star, you'll notice, upon grasp, the eyes go right or left. with 3-phase, simply move any wire and you have changed polarity. Try again and the eyes will go the opposite direction.

Again, Do Not Try this at home.

That's exactly what my mother said after I made my first jump.

A bunch of people grab hands (or whatevers), form a chain, and complete a circuit from a wall outlet. It's neat.

No shit, why the hell would you want to do this to yourself and possibly injure others ? ?

So by passing electricity through more than one person, are you somewhat reducing the shock ? If not, then why the hell do you do this ?

You do know that the biggest reason people die from an AC shock, is not the current, voltage, or amps alone - it's that when you get shocked you have a tendency to "clamp down" on something and not be able to let go, and eventually the current kills you. So I can see you all in a star fomration ( holding wrists, I assume) and then clamping down on each other's wrists and not being able to let go.

[sarcasm]Sounds like a lotta fun people.[/sarcasm]

I would figurw someone with beavis for a pic would understand this;)

When I did it (ONCE)we continued to trick our friends (ok so we were asshole) into doing it. we didnt use a cut chord or anything it was actually a muscle therapy kit.y'know the ones the pulse, they help your muscles heal when you get hurt etc. well there was a "volume" knob on it. and a head strap. do you see where this is going?
