Viking 0 #4 July 3, 2002 if i split it like that i won't have enough to get anything. I plan on buying a Hornet 210 which i can get for roughly $700. The car option would be just a start to save around $3500. The photo retreat is somthing that my grandmother offered to pay for but i am not sure i want to go. If i don't i would like to have that $ go towards one of the two above causes. Good thing i don't work tommorrow or i would never get this sorted out.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
Viking 0 #5 July 3, 2002 Dave if you look at it like that the trip is somthing that i don't need at all. The Chute is not something i need very badly but would bring my jumping costs down quit a bit. The car is not somthing a need bably either b/c i have use of a car but i would really like to have my own car to use and not have to worry about my mom needing the car.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
AggieDave 6 #6 July 3, 2002 In that case, Canopy, definately canopy. With the $$ you save jumping, you can put that in your car fund. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
MiataDRM 0 #7 July 3, 2002 You are asking the wrong group of people..just take the money & deposit it at your home DZ! I do like the idea of going on a get-away vacation...having said that, I took the money I was going to spend on airlines & hotels & spent it at SD Orange!....go figure :-) Put my vote down for gear! Okay, Okay...what do you want us to tell you? I'm a Pschydiver! Majdi E.

skymama 37 #9 July 3, 2002 The mountains will always be there. If you have a way to get around with someone else's car, I say go for the gear because renting gear is such a killer on the bank account. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Dumpster 0 #10 July 3, 2002 Definitely gear- Like as mentioned above, the mountains will always be there, and at 20 bones a jump to rent gear (that what it costs here-) you'll save more than enough make payments on a car, depending on how much you jump- Of course, asking any skydiver how to budget money gets only one answer- JUMPING! wlie 0 #12 July 3, 2002 I've worked out the perfect scam for ya. Here's what you do (I'll explain how it works afterwards): 1. Identify say 20 individuals 2. Approach each person as ask to "borrow" $1 3. Repeat the following week with a different set of individuals 4. Repeat the following week with the original set of individuals. (Scam may be modified by expanding the number of people in each sample, the number of sets, etc. depending on how fast you want raise the fund.) Here's how it works: Most people might forget about lending someone an insignificant amount of money. In the case of $1, they might even fall for the same scam twice. In the event that the loan is remembered, one's likely too embarassed to chase after it. Give it a try. It works best when the possibility to encounter one another is infrequent. Example: church (3++ opportunities a weekend - friday night, saturday evening, possibly 2 sessions on sunday - and the crowd's likely to be different each time).
