quade 4 #1 July 3, 2002 Would you rather be a big fish in a little pond or a little fish in a big pond? Think carefully, I'm not actually talking about fish. I'm really talking about skydiving.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
PhillyKev 0 #2 July 3, 2002 I thought you were talking about ponds.

skymama 37 #4 July 3, 2002 Before I came to Deland from another dz, people told me to be afraid, very afraid, because I WOULD be a little fish in a big pond. And, I was and still am! LOL! But, on the plus side of that, I get to learn from some of the best jumpers in the sport, and hang out with some pretty cool people, so it's all good in my opinion. I mean, I've had Norman Kent sit between my legs on the plane, listened to Bill Booth tell stories in the bar, joked around with Solly Williams, partied with Jari....you never know who's going to be there on any given day. It's so cool! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skybytch 273 #8 July 3, 2002 Having been both a big fish in a small pond and a small fish in a big pond... I'd rather be a big fish in a big pond. I'll get there someday...

Nick 0 #10 July 4, 2002 I think that when we all start skydiving we are all the smallest fish in what looks like a big pond, we then become the most experienced of the stuents and become a big fish in the student pond. Then we become Cat 8 (or whatever) and go back to being a little fish in a big pond. I think that's one of the good things about skydiving, thee are so many ponds and fish to meet. Nick Nick Gravity- It's not just a good idea, it's the LAW!
AggieDave 6 #11 July 4, 2002 Can I be the guy on the side of the pond fishing? Sounds like a lot of good eat'n here... Serious response: Either depends on the pond. If the pond is enjoyable with fish that have good personalities, etc. Then I think I would want to be there, even if that means I'll miss out being with and learning from some of the big fish. Although it would be great to be a smaller fish in a big pond. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
bodypilot90 0 #12 July 5, 2002 a small fish in a big pond. Reason more people to learn from. New ideas come to the big pond and walking catfish bring news of what's going on in other ponds. Also meet lots of new fish along with the normal ( in skydiving lol) school of fish . I think Crw fish are the real dark side
