Anyone speak Arabic?

Recommended Posts

anyone speak romance language? the key here is which one?

arabic modern (ad)
arabic egyptian (ae)
arabic maghrebi (am)
arabic saudi (an)
arabic syrian (ap)
arabic yemeni (au)
arabic sudanese (av)
arabic iraqi (dg)

then, of course, there's persian farsi (pf) and dari (pg)... the list goes on and on... :S

if you've got any friends at bragg, they've got some great (grain of salt) fast-track course materials you might be able to get your hands on. (ed: check with the sof language office at the school)

or, you can hit up the distance education office at dliflc. at the very least, they'll have some helpful info, or you might just go for gold and try their course mats, hehehe :o

then again, i dunno shite about this language stuff anyway :), so you're better off ignoring me. :P

Sabah Ilkheer (good day)
marhab (hi)
Al salaam walaikum (peace be with you)
Salaam (short for above said when leaving)

ok...the joke, arabs think this is funny if said in english. the parenthisi are notes not part of the joke

There once was this sheik (pronounced Shake). He wanted to get married. He told his assistant to proclaim to the kingdom that he was looking for a wife with a large mouth.

the proclamation went out and all the women said ,
"LAAAAAAAAA?" (say this with your mouth open it means 'NO?')

The Sheikh met various women and then changed his mind. He told his assitant to proclaim that he like women with small mouths.

The proclamation went out and all the women said,
"shooooooo?" (say with small mouth, means what?)
