jojodancer 0 #1 July 12, 2002 Hoping for some advice. Wanting feedback on the DZ in Lexington Texas. It'll be my first time...a friend said she heard it wasn't the best. Now I'm all worried. So, does anybody know anything about it?
Jessica 0 #2 July 12, 2002 I live in the area, and while I haven't been there, I've never heard one bad thing about that dropzone. If it's closest to you, go for it! You have other options...there's a dropzone of a similar size up toward Temple, and south of Austin is Skydive San Marcos, a really great dropzone. But any of them are good bets.Skydiving is for cool people only
jojodancer 0 #3 July 12, 2002 So, what does it mean exactly when someone says it's not a good DZ? Is that just the place in general or something more specific?
rgoper 0 #4 July 12, 2002 JoJo: check your pm's. i just looked at your profile, come to skydivehouston.com trust me!--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
PhreeZone 20 #5 July 12, 2002 Could be unsafe planes, gear or 99% of the time someone did'nt get their way and got pissed about something and complain about it to anyone that will listen. You made a great step by asking here... get lots of info, but don't dwell on any one review. I jumped at San Marcos and really liked the DZ. Next time in TX I'd like to jump at Lexington and a few other places too.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Jimbo 0 #6 July 12, 2002 Have you heard about the dz in the press? If you haven't then most likley there's nothing wrong with it. Why does your friend say it's a bad dz? What does she think makes a 'nice' dz? If she's not a skydiver then her opinion on whether or not a dz is 'good' doesn't really mean much. Whuffos aren't qualified, in my opinion, to comment on the worthiness of any dz. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. Michele 1 #7 July 12, 2002 Quotea friend said she heard it wasn't the best. Now I'm all worried Hey, Jojo... I once heard from a friend of a friend, who heard it from her neice's nephew's uncle's hairdresser's wife's sister-in-law's cousin that..... My point is, if your friend is not a jumper, and hasn't got first hand experience on why this isn't a good DZ, perhaps you should just take a day trip and go check it out for yourself? Go there, feel the vibes, talk to the manager, etc. Firsthand knowledge is the best. Run a search on the 'net and see it's website; check out alternatives. Look into it for yourself, and satisfy yourself. Just my .02, though. rgoper 0 #9 July 12, 2002 JoJo: while your logged in, go to "Edit Profile" then to "user profile" then go to recieve pm's? or do not recieve pm's, check the accept pm's box, and you'll see them. to send someone a pm, simply click on their screen name, and go to the bottom right hand corner, and you'll be able to sen that person a pm. any more questions, please ask.--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
Michele 1 #10 July 12, 2002 Quotewhat are "pm's"? (Remeber, I said it was my first time...) There should be a red 1new right next to the word Message on the second line of the location/click bars. Click on the word Message, and you should be taken right in there. However, if you have not enabled "receive messages from users" on your preference page, you won't get it. Should that be the case, go into Edit Profile, and change that preference to the other one. (Editor's note: D'oh! Richard beat me to it! LOL!!!) (No, I'm not Richard...just thought I'd step in. I'm chatty tonight!) Ciels and Pinks- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
