Any word on the 120 way attempt at Crosskeys?

Recommended Posts

Think they started yesterday. Anyone know if they've made any legitimate attempts yet and how they went? I have to work most of this weekend, hopefully I'll get out there. Supposed to be gorgeous weather and watching those super huge big ways is fun. It's like a kaleidoscope instantly appearing in the sky when they break off and start deploying. Hope I don't completely miss it.

They registered this morning and did at least one (unsuccessful) jump so far. My sweetie is there and called me during a break, but there wasn't much time to grill him so that is all I know so far. :)
Have fun there this weekend! Wish I was there. :(

Whats your mans name? ill hunt him down...

You'll know him when you see him.. just look for an incredibly adorable young stud muffin in a nice and tight RW suit. Oh wait... there's probably a bunch of those running around there right now, huh? ;) tell him I said hi too; I met him at the big way camp in Eloy. All I can say is.... Tee is a lucky girl! B|

the best is when someone comes up from behind her and grabs her, her eyes get really big

Wow, that's all I can muster at this point. Stacy , I never knew.....

How could you know? You can't see how big her eyes get when you're the one grabbing her from behind.

Aw shucks.....thanks. He is a sweetie. :)
And Kelly, he finally found out who you were on Saturday but you were busy all day (too sweet to interrupt) and then on Sunday he couldn't find you. :( Next time! And next time, I'll get to come too!

You talking about that guy that was always half naked that you and Val were acting like 14year old girls at a N' Sync concert over? Geez, all that attention to that guy and I was there the entire time...:P;)

And Tee is dating him? Damn, you know this skydiving community gets smaller every time I go to the DZ, or so it seems.

Update -

Got the 120 way twice on Friday. On Sat we got the second point, but it was keyed about a second before the first point was completed, so no official record. We were within a few seconds on two of the jumps to the 2 point.

On Sunday we got weathered out and everyone took off for the airport etc. So we got the state record but no world record.

Side notes -

I registered late, and put a note on the reg form "Put me wherever you need me, Roger." Well, apparently he needed people for the base, so I spent the weekend wearing 4-17 pounds of weight. (I was the lightest person in the base.) We pulled off 14 perfect launches. People kept going low so we kept adding weight until we were hitting 135mph shortly after exit. (Partly due to the 17,500 exit altitude.) We finally stopped when our superfloater mentioned he could barely stay down with us.

An automatic oxygen system was installed that metered the oxygen based on altitude so you didn't run through it so quickly. Well, that was the idea anyway. Lou and I, for some reason, were getting so much O2 that I had to hold the hose two feet from my face and just let it blow at me.

I made two jumps on my Safire 119 before it got sort of spooky landing in a pack of 120 people with an extra 16 pounds of weight. I borrowed a Spectre 150 from Kate (thanks Kate, I owe you a case of Lang) and jumped that for the rest of the week. It is a truly awesome big way canopy - on heading openings, soft but consistent, and it glides well, sinks well and can be flat/flare turned with no problem. I may have to get one for the 300 way.

Yep. As usual there was a wide range, but they ranged from sub-100 ft highly elliptical canopies to 200+ sq ft F111 canopies. Average canopy size seemed to be around 130 sq ft from what I saw.

During one of the dirt dives we were doing a runout. Roger gave the count and everyone started moving towards the center just as a freeflyer came swooping through the crowd - one guy had to hit the deck to avoid hitting him. The freeflyer was annoyed at us - "it's a landing area!" - but hurried away when he realized there were 120 people mad at him. (While it was near the landing area, we had used yellow tape on the ground to mark a huge "asterisk" to show where the formation would be aligned during the dirt dive.)
