I Can't Wait Anymore

Recommended Posts

I had a cutaway and reserve ride two weeks ago and I have still not had my reserve repacked. It is not the riggers fault. He ordered my freebag and handles the Monday after my cutaway. I tried to call Mirage all week but they did not answer the phone. I sent e-mails and a pm to Unisyn. They finally called my rigger 5 days after receiving the order and confirmed it. Yet my rigger still has not received them.

I did not go to work today. I spent the day in bed. I have not had air in awhile and I am going through withdrawls. Just wanted to vent!

Thanks Betsy Boobie! Congrats on handling the cutaway! A little adrneline rush after the adrneline rush kind of wakes you up, you know what I mean? I hope you were able to find your canopy and freebag. How is the training going?

Did you order two of each, so next time you won't have to go through this? Spare parts are a good thing to have around...

No I did not Lisa. Someone else told me to do this. I think Mirage was on vacation over the fourth and that is why I am waiting so long. I will order extra and make sure this does not happen again.[:/]

Yep, I have boxes now. By this time I must have a dozen sliders, two or three reserve ripcords, cutaway handles, a half dozen toggles (mismatched of course) D-bags, slider bumpers, pilot chutes from 24 to 50 inches, you name it. Now if I could just get a decent sewing machine.

Only rookies toss their handlesB|

bwahaahaa......so just kidding:D:D

Only rookies give themsleves a chop....NOT!:P
Had to add that as I haven't had a chop yet (touch wood);) have had quite a few close calls, but I usually dump high [thank goodness] and have so far managed to recover them...but the one I nearly had on my 28th tandem, well, that was interesting...

Nathan~
Two way with camera train exit. Shana rotated on exit and slammed me into the aircraft. Pilot heard it and contacted the ground crew......he thought it was my head. I'm resting for the next few days and will be training again on Thursday.....hopefully.
Cheers!

I know and I kept them on the first chop. Oh well. This opening and spin made little birdies go around my head so I don't care. I am waiting on my freebag too. I watched it go into some deep woods. I need a machete to go and look further. Luckily my canopy floated all the way to the airport. That was luck. And yes, I am still a rookie!B|

My first chop I chucked my handles too. It just sounded cool to say. Out here in California we have Poison Oak. I am highly allergic to it so you would never ever find me charging through the woods. I'd just fork over the cash. Unless it was a main.

What do youhave in the east? Poison Ivy, Sumak(sp?).......Same thing I guess:P

The place was loaded with poison ivy. Emmie went with me to find it and she almost picked up a snake as we were making our way through the woods. Emmie bends down to pick it up and says, "Oh look a snake." I say, "Don't pick it up!" Emmie asks "Why not." I reply, "It may be poisonous." Emmie says, "I just want to take it to manifest." I look at Emmie, I look at the weeds taller than me, "lets go back to the hanger without the freebag and the snake" I said.[:/]

California has some freaky wildlife. I've seen rattlesnakes, tarantulas, black widows and brown recluses up close and personal. I've seen the latter two in my own house. The tarantula was the coolest, though. I used to be totally irrational about spiders. Even the smallest ones gave me shivers. However, when we were hiking out to a bridge to bungee jump, we came across a tarantula. It was enormous and was sitting dead still in the middle of the trail. I assumed it was dead and got close to it, but it started moving about. Oddly enough, at that moment, whatever fear I had evaporated and I've been cool with spiders ever since.

throwing handles is a serious BEER offense ! plus the bottle for your rigger , which should be your #1 priorityDONT FORGET ABOUT THE RIGGER !

Yeah, I have already purchased a case of Pacifico for him. He doesn't like liquor and he doesn't drink but the packers wanted Pacifico. ;)

JNCoughlin...a new G4 would be nice.:)
