f1freak 0 #1 July 18, 2002 If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, then traded in the cans at a redemption center for the nickel deposit, you would have $107.00. Given the current conditions of the economy, my advice is to drink heavily and recycle.HAVE FUN... ...JUST DONT DIE
moodyskydiver 0 #2 July 18, 2002 I'll keep that in mind. But then again, skydivers have never had a shortage of excuses to drink beer anyway. We can just add this one to the list.hehe "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
Snowflake 0 #3 July 19, 2002 ahhhhh but if you played put options on Nortel for the past year you probably did pretty good

Besides, I'm tired of hearing all their whining and shit. They never listen to me anyway. I will also forward your tip to my branch manager. "She" will love it! Yep, I can't wait till the market closes tomorrow. Because then I head to the playground, I mean dropzone! Assist with the h2o training and make beer money, then party without puking, not getting into a coma, and do 6 rounds of 4 way in the SSL. Do a couple of night jumps and watch the FNGs land out. And finally drink some badass homebrew!!

mouth 0 #14 July 19, 2002 Shark....if you are anything like my broker....there isn't anything you could say to me right now that would make me happy. My problem was I listened to the PITA earlier so I bought JDSU at 13...now it is like at 3. You guys don't know any better than the rest of us. Might I suggest sticking to skydiving....it sounds like you have a much better plan there. Plus it is less dangerous than the market right now. Have a great weekend. Aren't you glad the market is closed on weekends????? Lisa -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.

mouth 0 #18 July 19, 2002 Dave...hon I was joking. I can't imagine owning a DZ would be much more productive than playing the market. Aren't you glad the market is closed on weekends????? Lisa Hi Lisa, We actually deal with the exercise of corporate stock options. We also discourage our clients from staying in "highly" concentrated positions. Read: their company stock. Those who did NOT listen found themselves losing their ass and subjected to margin calls. I personally like preservation of capital and have our "smarter" clients in municipal bond portfolios. Looks like your broker got you to chase the "hot dot" and it blew up. Like the say, the market is driven by fear and greed. Hope all turns around and will be better for everyone. It sucks to see people lose money and even worse when it is your own. And I am sticking to skydiving. I also enjoy jumping with and teaching students, but it doesn't pay that well, not that I'm doing it for the money. In fact, I use my own ticket and jump for free with them post "A" license. Yes, I am glad the market is closed on weekends. They should be open only 4 days a week. Shark 0 #22 July 19, 2002 QuoteI'm planning to convert all of my severely deflated investments to Ramen Noodles in the near future. A better investment would be SPAM. You have the entree and then jello for desert all in one can. Personally, I like the beer investment.
