TEB6363 0 #2 July 16, 2002 Yes, when the good thing just becomes something to have - then it is no longer good. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
hobbes4star 0 #3 July 16, 2002 depends on what the good thing is. like can you have to much skydiving?? no i think not.if fun were easy it wouldn't be worth having, right?
Jasmin 0 #4 July 16, 2002 Sex....possibly Drinking....definately Jumping...? xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."
freeflir29 0 #5 July 16, 2002 Sex...only when you are too sore to continue. Drinking...only after you throw up the second time. Skydiving....if it's really really hot outside and you have to pack for yourself...yes.
quade 4 #6 July 16, 2002 Yes. Most people would say that drinking water is a good thing. However, if you were to drink, say, five gallons at one time, then you'd run a very real risk of dying. See THIS. Well, what about oxygen? Can't get too much of that -- right? Ah, actually, you can. See THIS. So, um, yes, you can have too much of a good thing.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Sebazz1 2 #8 July 16, 2002 Quote Can you have too much of a good thing? I something is so good how could you possibly have too much? So my answer is no. No yes. I mean no. Yes...................Damn Why you gotta get me all confused
SBS 0 #9 July 16, 2002 Gramatically, nope, not possible. If you have TOO much of something, then by definition, it is no longer a good thing. Realistically, I think anything that is good looses something when not had in moderation. Sex, money, skydiving, anything. Hopefully sometime I'll be able to test it out first hand, and see if there really is such thing as too much sex. I think I'd rather have a little to much than much too little. :-) Steve_____________ I'm not conceited...I'm just realistic about my awesomeness... moodyskydiver 0 #10 July 16, 2002 Yes and No. Yes it is possible to have too much of a good thing b/c once you have something in abundance there is a tendancy to take it for granted and it therefore loses some of its origional appeal. But since good things are sometimes hard to come by in this world,I think having too much is ok at times. So there is my screwed up perspective. "...just an earthbound misfit, I." jams 0 #12 July 18, 2002 Just like the old question: is it better to want what you have, or be able to get what you want? So that's a choice too! Yes, i think you can have too much of a good thing, but by then abundance might have become a burden, so it is no longer a "good" thing... Be sure you want what you ask for, you just might get it!m ~ a temporary reconfiguration of stardust
TomAiello 26 #13 July 18, 2002 Too much of anything can make it not so good anymore. I've had too much of lots of good things--drugs, alcohol, sex, skydiving (yes, I know that's sacrilege around here), love. Everything in moderation (especially, on occasion, moderation itself). jtval 0 #14 July 19, 2002 only if you are felling guilty about something it may be you had too much....or you have a weak constitution. if you have a guilty consccience about enjoying something too much you have two choices... stop doing it..or stop thinking that its wrong I prefer the latterMy photos My Videos
TomAiello 26 #15 July 19, 2002 Quote only if you are felling guilty about something it may be you had too much....or you have a weak constitution. It must be my weak constitution, then. I seem to be totally lacking in guilt feelings for anything that doesn't hurt someone else. Quote if you have a guilty consccience about enjoying something too much you have two choices... stop doing it..or stop thinking that its wrong I prefer the latter I'm pretty sure it's not a guilty conscience. Haven't you ever been so stoned, for so long, you just wanted to come down? Or been so drunk you just needed to stop and go to bed? I think it's mostly about physical or mental exhaustion. Too much of anything and eventually I just need to stop and do something else for a while. Look at it this way. Backing off of something for a while makes it all the more rewarding when you get back to it. Never backing off makes the reward continuously diminish until it's just no fun anymore. What if you were banished to a strange foreign land where there was no skydiving? I bet your first 100 jumps back would be a whole lot more fun than the corresponding 100 jumps if you had been jumping all along. It's late. I'm rambling. I'm just sure it's not guilt.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
