Sebazz1 2 #27 July 24, 2002 We really have been having an awesome summer here in Nor Cal. We have not been weathered on any weekends since April. The insect population is tiny and the temps have been super mild. Actually I take it back. It sucks out here. Don't come........... unless of course your name is Skymama

Muenkel 0 #34 July 24, 2002 How did my thread turn in to a love fest for Lummy and Skymama? Big ole hijack going on here. BTW, the San Francisco region is incredible, but New England is quite the place also. You've got the Maine coast, Boston, NYC (by adoption), the ocean, the sound, the green and white mountains, the foliage, etc. Am I starting to sound like a tourism commercial? _________________________________________ Chris
nws01 0 #35 July 24, 2002 All I have seen of New England is my hotel, the airport, and the ground coming at me bewtween 120 and 200 mph. Screw the ocean and mountains just give me a plane to jump out of and I am
 lummy 4 #36 July 24, 2002 QuoteBoston,*** Been there. I've always enjoyed history and Boston is a great place for that. Still wouldn't want to live there :) NYC (by adoption),*** Are you kidding? I grew up on the other side of the GWB, It's another nice place to visit, but live there? Ickkies... I remember some of the summers that were just miserablly hot. Freezing my butt off in the winters and everything had this dirty hazy look to it. Don't get me wrong, New england is a beautiful place, but all in all, I've lived in better places, and worse. Nope, not for me thank you very much.... Oh, and Everyone smokes... it's GROSS ;) the ocean, SF bay Area GOT IT the sound, SF bay area GOT IT green and white mountains, SFBay Area GOT IT, and OUR mountains are Bigger and prettier :) the foliage, Got me there, I do miss the changing of seasons, the renewal of live after hibernation in the spring, the changing of colors in the fall, It is breathtaking. Here, it is the opposite. In the winter, it is rainiy season and the surrounding hills turn a lush green and stay that way til late April early May. Then they start to turn brown as the wild grasses dry up. SF also has... Fog, Think it sounds stupid or why would I bring it up? well, you'll never know until you sit in the Berkeley hills and watch the fog roll in over SF and thru the Golden Gate at sunset.I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. Of the 50, it certainly ranks near the top. As for NYC, it is much cleaner and safer now. I don't know how long ago it was you lived in Jersey, but the city is a blast. However, since 9/11 there certainly is an eeriness and a sadness about it. Half the skyline looks chopped off. _________________________________________ Chris
 Prev 1 2 Next Page 2 of 2 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
