Sad news

Just a quick note for those of you out there who may have known him.

Don MacIntyre one of the pilots at Skydive Citrusdal passed away last night after a battle with cancer.

His presence, calm and competence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Don flew jumpers for many, many years at Citrusdal and we will all be the less for his passing.

Did he represent South Africa in some international flying competition in Turkey? If it is the same guy, then I understand your loss. Spoke to him round the braai a couple of times last year - such a chilled-out nice guy.

I read that his ashes will be spread over the DZ, I'm sure he had some wonderful times there and you guys are all left with wonderful memories of him.

Don was a really nice guy. I met him at a rally at the Stellenbosch Flying Club which he organised. Although I only recently moved to the area, Don drew me into the competition, and made me feel at home instantly.
