scottbre 0 #1 August 1, 2002 Anyone know of a website that has actual pictures of the different colors of cordura that can be used on a rig? The reason I ask is that most places I have found that have a "design-your-own" thing shows colors that aren't even close to what they would actually look like. Square1.com's and Infinity's come to mind. Any idea? I'm going to ask my rigger/DZO today if he has color samples but other than that I don't really know. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!" freeflir29 0 #2 August 1, 2002 I'd be willing to bet that if you emailed the manufacturer they would be more than happy to mail you swatches of any color and fabric you're interested in.
Keith 0 #3 August 1, 2002 Yep, I was going to say the same thing. I e-mailed jump shack and they mailed me samples. It really helped in selection.Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. Mandeville
goose491 0 #4 August 1, 2002 try emailing Dupont... they manufacture the nylon fabric and I bet for a few bucks and a self-addressed envelope, they'd send you a set of samples... I had asked them about Supplex and that's what they told me. Other than that, you know the colors available... go through the picture archives on this site and on enclave.com... If you can recognize the rigs, you'll see what the colors look like My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
quade 4 #5 August 1, 2002 It would be next to impossible to any web site to guarantee that the colors would be accurate because there is almost no way for them to ensure that YOUR monitor is set up correctly. Even is they scanned the actual fabric, had a predefined color space . . . it's just not possible to get an exact match. Your best bet is to drop a note to the rig manufacturer and have them send you swatches, but even THEN there's no guarantee that the colors you see on the swtches will exactly match the colors that get delivered to you because of slight differences in dye lots of fabric. Rest assured, the colors will be very, very close, but exact color matching probably isn't quite possible.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Deuce 1 #6 August 1, 2002 Have your local gear store fit you and show you swatches. My local dealer, Bonnie at Gravity Gear, has great artistic skill and has designed tons of rigs and jumpsuits. These folks, like Skybytch, etc. also know when cool new fabrics come out that may not be reflected in the catalogs. They also have the fabric samples you need to look for. Don't underestimate having someone else use the tape measure. I can think of very few things worse than waiting three months for a custom rig, and then having to send it right back without jumping it cause it didn't fit right. Oh, and don't underestimate the superior fit and comfort of the Wings harness and container system. (that one's for Gareth)

Deuce 1 #8 August 1, 2002 Ah. Well, before you drop serious bucks you might want to go on a road trip. Whats a couple of states in your neck of the woods? They're all pretty dinky out there. Fill up the Pinto and drive.
scottbre 0 #9 August 1, 2002 It would still take me longer to drive to Deland than it would take you to drive to Perris. BTW: I'm toying with the idea of moving into your neighborhood.
