sangiro 26 #1 August 8, 2002 Heya all, My struggles with servers and ISP's seem to be never ending.... So yes, you guessed it... we're moving again! I don't have the time to embark on the same kind of operation that I went on last time so I asked for some help from them crazy Canadians again! I will in fact be moving the site to their servers. They assure me there will be no more than 30 minutes "downtime" - unlike my effort last time when I kept you guys productive at work for days! This will probably happen somewhere in next week - I'll let you know when I have more details. For those techies who know about computer-stuff and who may be curious, here's what we had and what we're going to: Current Server: Processor : 650 Mhz Memory : 512MB RAM Hard Drive 1 : 20GB EIDE Bandwidth : 40GB/Month New Server: Processor : Dual AMD 1.2 Ghz processors Memory : 1 GIG RAM Hard Drive 1 : 40GB EIDE Bandwidth : 60GB/Month So, we're doubling the uuumpff! I spent most of my weekend testing and it's looking good. Outstanding issue is a commercial agreement with the two hosts to prevent me from having to pay double hosting fees this month. As soon as this is set we'll sync up the data and point the domain name at the new IP address. Should be in the next couple of days... or sooner. (Want to get rid of these server overloads ASAP!) I'll keep ya'all posted.
